Stress at work driving me out
That is disgusting and I'm sure u must have some rights about this...u should take it higher. ..cannot believe how any normal person would put a pregnant employee in a dangerous position like that!
Totally agree, how irresponsible of your manager. Is there any way you can seek a change in current working condition? How about talking to a union rep if you get no satisfaction?
Definitely doesn't sound v.good..I assume you have done a risk assessment and I would assume that this would b a risk in ur line of work.. as coeny-em says is it possible to modify ur role slightly. .also u need to speak to your manager and make sure u r not put in tht position again.
Have you seen anyone in occy health yet? For a start, your boss should be doing a safety assessment for you every trimester, which might help them actually engage brain a bit, and OH can help with this.
I lost count if how many situations I found myself in that I'd rather I hadn't, punched in the tummy by an acutely confused patient trying to removed his catheter (he was having a heart attack at the time and hypoxic, pulling at any tube he could), the super obese patient who arrested in his chair in front of me while I was 35 weeks pregnant - trying to get him on the floor with no other help than a slightly less pregnant nurse was 'interesting'..., any night time bleep to assess confused old people (they are like stealth ninja's with the prowess of cats and superhuman strength )
There are so many hazards in healthcare that you can't predict, they really should be doing more with the ones you can...
