How much to feed my little man?

My little boy is 10 weeks old. He was born 9lb 1oz so he is a sturdy bundle :-) he is currently on 6oz of formula milk but wanting more frequent feeds. I have tried giving him 7oz but he just throws it up. Don't know what to do.

Also, the milk for hungier babies makes him constipated.

Do you wind him mid way through the feed? When I upped my boy's feed, he was more sicky than normal so I made sure I fed him a little, winded him, more, winded him, etc. Helped him cope with the larger amount and now hes much better and more satisfied :-)

Yer we've always winded him mid feed. He was born tongue tied so has always been a very windy baby :-)

Aw little sweety!! Yh my guy is pretty windy so I made sure to wind hints a few times when making the feeds bigger so he didn't throw up and could recognise how much he wanted to take and sort of ease him in :-)

Also I found the breaks for winding preventing him from drinking to fast and gobbling it down like the little piglet he is lol! :D

Lol sounds familiar :-)

What about adding an extra feed in so if he is going every 4 hours give him a bottle every 3?.. my daughter was born 9lb10 and I was told I would have to feed her solids earlier. .. this was back in the day when it was feeding from 4 months they told me to feed her at 3... so u may have to think about weaning from 4 months x

Hi,

My son was very similar (when a baby in 2008)

As he was my 1st child then I was absolutely beside myself at times because it just seemed like he was always constipated.

The best thing which worked for me "at the time" was to stop him mid way of feed for a burp & gave him a Lil' boiled, cooled water to drink when he was not feeding. I guess the "water" also helped his bowels to move alot better than before.

xx

Thank you. I have given him a bottle of cooled boiled water cause he had a cold and was worried about him dehydrating. I was nervous though :-\

My little girl is 10weeks old & is 8lbs 12oz now & she is on 5oz every 3-4 hours. I wouldn't up it if your little one is struggling to digest the extra amount.
