Breast feeding, do you offer both sides?

Baby is 11 wks, he's now feeding every 2 hours..! I'm trying to give a bottle which he's refusing ( see last question posted)

Do you think if I now offer both breasts at every feed it will fill him up more & give me longer between feeds..? I'm just not getting anytime to do anything?

If Baby seems to be hungry then Yes, by all means offer him the other breast but you may want to try & persevere with the bottle as you may find yourself getting rather sore in the next few days or so

xx

I often offer both..I feed him on one then wind and if hes still hungry then offer the other..tht works for me and I get time to myself xx

I do this too but still get very little time to self. All depends on the baby X

I offer both (after 4 bouts of mastitis!). However, it didn't lengthen duration between feeds. My LO fed 14-16 times a day until 15 weeks, has now dropped to 8-10 (which was worrying at first!!)

Yea i used to offer both, but now just tend to do one (my boobs get excessively full!! Lol)! Just have to be careful u dont offer the second as they need to get the hind milk in the first one. x

I will offer both if I can be sure one has been emptied, then a wind and on to the other. Then start on this one the next time until empty and switch. I have to do this more of an evening during cluster feeding, the daytime usually one boob will suffice.

Am worried at the mo that I cannot keep up with the demand, boobs incredibly soft in the evenings :( xx

My little one is feeding from both sides most feeds. I'm finding that even when my boobs feel quite soft (and to me feel empty) he still attaches and I can feel him swallowing. Also there is often a dribble of fresh milk from his mouth so I don't think that it's a problem for baby when your boobs feel soft :-)

Think it's at least 10 mins on one then u can swap to the other...u have to get to the hind milk which is what fills them up
