I've just been at my gynae and I'm told my baby is around 1.5kg at 33 weeks with low amniotic fluid. I am worried my baby boy will not grow to average weight by the time I'm due. Does anyone know of similar situations and can advise?

Any advice? Worried of having a potentially small size baby
My youngest daughter was 'IUGR' Inter-Uterine Growth Retardation (i think) which sounds horrible, but she is now a healthy teenager. Basically she was measuring small for dates and I was referred to a consultant. My fluid levels were also low. They monitored my pregnancy regularly and decided to induce at 37+4. My daughter was born small (5lb 13oz) but otherwise perfectly healthy.
Try not to worry, they will do extra monitoring of you and your baby if it's 'small-for-dates'. All 3 of mine were small for dates and I had loads of scans to keep a check on them. My first 2 also had minimal fetal movements but 3rd one made up for this and kicked like mad 24/7!! They were born 5lb5.5oz, 5lb4oz & 6lb6oz and all maintained average weight gain except 3rd one who piled on a pound a week. He ended up in 12-18 month clothes when he was 9 months!! They are all healthy and have average height/weight for their age. The consultants told me it's normal to have small babies if you're small (I'm only 5ft2) but they just needed to monitor me to check the growth rate was consistent. If you are really worried and they haven't booked you in for an additional scan, maybe you could request one. It would give you peace of mind that all is ok xx
Please don't worry both mine were IUGR
