Last two weeks I have had extremely sore nipples, and quite cracked aswell. Is this just my body getting ready for breast feeding? And is there anything I can do to soothe it?! Sorry for tmi! :) x

Invest in some lanolin - it's a god send!

I'm with Babymother, your own milk is magic lotion to cracked nipps! I have also used kamilosan in the past which was ok but not as good as boob juice. Don't worry though, they will heal x :)

You can get lanolin in Sainsbury's but I'm sure boots / Superdrug and pharmacies stock it as well. I had cracked nipples in early pregnancy and used Asda's own nipple cream - it worked a treat and was only £1!! You can't use it once little one arrives if you're breast feeding though.

Hope it clears up soon for you xx

I tried Asda's own brand nipple cream (it's what I bought for my hospital bag) - it's rubbish, BUT does make for an amazing footcream!!

I always hand express a little BM at the rnd of a feed and leave my nipples to air dry, but sadly wasn't enough.

100% pure lanolin is more expensive, but I think worth it. There used to only really be one brand (lansinoh), but Medela has recently started doing one. Lansinoh is £9.99 for 40g

Medela purelan is £5.99 for 37g

I bought a tube of purelan at around 3 week - LO is now 10 weeks and I've got just under half a tube left, so it lasts...

Lanolin is also amazing for that horrible 4am feed dry nose you notice! The joys of having all your spare body fluid leached for booby juice production!!

Thanks Hun :)
