Feeling like crap :-(

Hey everyone;

Yesterday i started to feel achy and a slight sore throat and its got worse and im now pretty sure ive got tonsillitis, my glands wow theybig ive not settled all night hence why im writing this at 4.51 lol. Anyway im pretty sure gp will give me penicillin but does anyone know if its safe while breastfeeding? Xxx

Oh no hun.thats what you need now... I'm not a doctor but when i was bf my son i had really bad throat inf.and dr prescribed me penicillin.It passes into breast milk in small amounts. There are no reported negative side effects associated with penicillin use while bf.Often, the infection for which the penicillin is prescribed is more likely to cause problems breastfeeding than the medication.but it is always best to check with your dr first.try some home remedies:drinking plenty of honey and lemon+ hot water.but if your glands are swollen i think you need to pay dr a visit. U Poor thing the weather changes and people start coming down with things but def don't need it being pregnant! Think antibiotics are fine I've been prescribed them before when iwas pregnant...Take Some paracetamol and drink warm drinks like tea or hot chocolate or warm milk hope u feel better soon x

Thanks ladies its def the change in weather. Thankfully hubby is off today so he got up with baba.im building myself up toget up and get organized to take lil lady to school but bed is so comfy! I did Google penicillin when breast feeding and said what you said neska ill have a talk to gp that's if I can get an appt.lol xxx
