Congratulations! You usually book an appointment with the midwife (probably through your GP surgery) at around 8-10 weeks pregnant. That's 8-10 weeks from the first day of your last period.

Firstly, congratulations!

When the doctor confirmed it, did they mention anything about next steps? Normally your doctor would book you in with the local midwife team. The midwives would then contact you for a booking appointment at roughly 8-10 weeks.

Do you know when you're last period was? They normally take early dates from last period.

Hope that helps and welcome to the group :) xXx

Thanks! :D when I went to the docs I was in a bit of shock so can't remember anything she said really? :s I have no idea when my last period was, I was on the pill so didn't keep an eye on it, could of been between 6-8 weeks ago I'm guessing. I really don't know s have no idea when I will see the midwife? I really am trying not to get excited as it could be really really early and I am terrified of something being wrong! Xx

I got caught out on the pill, it is very confusing when they tell you, the gp just seems to be talking at you but nothing seems to register with you. How exciting.

Might be worth calling your GP surgery. The receptionist should know what the procedure is for getting you an appointment with the midwife. If you reckon you're 6-8 weeks pregnant, then you could ask to see the midwife in the next couple of weeks. Good luck!

Cant believe they never reffered you for a scan if you don't know when your last period was. I had not had a period for 14 weeks and my gp referred me to epu for an early dating scan as my blood test confirmed my hcg levels were high. The scan revealed I was 7 weeks pregnant. I would rung your docs back and ask them to refer you to EPU as you have no idea how far gone you are. The first midwife app is normally about 8-10weeks but you may be further along than that if you haven't got LMP to go by.

Thanks guys I have scheduled a call with my doctor later this afternoon so I can ask a couple of questions and find out what's next I think more than anything I'm dying to know how far along I am! Megzey it definitely does feel like they are talking at you! All I could think of was telling my partner so ignored the doctor completely!! Thanks for the help all xx
