28 week midwie app. results

Does midwife call if something wrong? What a primitive system, I want to know my levels without waiting 1 month 32 week app. What if the midwife forget to call, where should I call and ask? I had anemia history.

If there is an issue they call you. If not they don't call.

Usually with results that are concerning they are pretty much on top of it straight away and don't tend to forget. You can just call your midwife after a week or so and ask about them if you are that concerned. I tend to find that majoritively speaking nhs service is very good

They must have given you your antenatal medical notes. There you will find useful telephone numbers (usually front page). You can call maternal assessment unit to get your results over the phone. Good luck!

Don't worry, the system is really good and they have a screening midwife who checks all the abnormal levels so you'll definitely hear if something is wrong. The NHS is pretty good system, especially when you consider that its a public service.

I had my 28 week bloods done on Monday morning and a letter arrived Wednesday morning to say my iron level was too low and I needed to visit my GP to discuss my treatment. An amazing service I think

Letter system is really primitive. Computers are in our lifes in my country you can check all your tests via online with your patience number. Letter is a middle age tech.

I've taken a long time to think about this reply, because I'm passionate about it and don't want it to come across the wrong way.

I did even think about not replying because I think it might be taken the wrong way and cause offence, please be assured that that was not my intention.

I've noticed that throughout your pregnancy you have posted a lot moaning about the service you have received and how cr@p you think the NHS is. If that's is the case, did you not consider returning to your native country for antenatal care and birth?!

The NHS is a free healthcare service that does the best it can with limited resources. Yes, sometimes things do go wrong or care is not as it should be, but this is not the norm and most care in my opinion Is excellent.

We have a lots to thank the NHS for, and the amazing doctors, nurses and midwives that work for them.

If you were ill or something was wrong with your baby, they would see you immediately, no questions asked.

This happened to me last Saturday. I had heavy bleeding at home, phoned my local hospital. Within 30 mins I was on labour ward being monitored and reassured by the fab staff and baby heart beat.

I'd like to add, I'm not an NHS worker! But I do have a lot of respect for them.

I completely agree with you about the nhs service. Of course there may be issues or problems at times but the service in general is brilliant (and I have in the past encountered major problems within the system which I don't really wana go into) and I always appreciate the service and the fact that it is free as well

I 100% agree with hols13.

Of course this is a forum where anyone can come and seek guidance, advice or just a friendly chat without fear of reprisal but it is sad when it is used to frequently comment on how poor our PUBLIC NATIONAL health service.

I for one feel that our Doctors and Nurses do a fantastic job with the funding and resources that they are provided with.

So far during my pregnancy the support I have received has been excellent.

No point in moaning incessantly about it if you intend to use the system. Maybe go private and pay for it??
