Fluid loss please help

Hi everyone,

Having a bit of a time at the minute, you may have noticed my posting last night about my kidney infection. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced the same, I went to the toilet late last night obviously cleaned myself off I then stood up and got a light gushing feeling and liquid running down my legs about three streaks and some on my pants. It didn't feel the same as it would when you wee the feeling was much different. I rang the labour ward last night and they said to monitor it which I did and nothing more came out so we left it at that. Has anyone experienced similar? Or can anyone give me any advice? Thanks x

Yeah doesn't seem like anythig else is coming out. thing was it didn't smell like wee either, so I'm stumped. Just a bit worried that one of my babies are at risk if it is :(

I spoke to day assesment this morning and they've told me to put kitchen roll on my pants as that shows better if anythings coming out rather than a pad. Also babies haven't moved this morning either so I was told to keep an eye on that till after dinner. Bit sick of all the worry, I just don't know what to expect xxx

Ah bless you it is horrible. My midwife told me if I was ever in doubt of the movements, sit down have a cold drink and place my hands on my tummy while watching TV and wait for movement. If you are still not happy then ring the antenatal ward and ask to get taken in for monitoring as you have had no movement. The will probs get you in. Don't sit worrying it is the worst thing you can do.

Hiya, How many weeks are you? there was a lady on here Laurah123 or something and she had a fluid loss at around 19 weeks and she got it checked out and her waters were leaking and they gave her Antibiotics in case of infection I seem to remember. Put a pad on if you haven't already. Monitor it like they said using the fluid on your pad if you get anymore. Sometimes the baby pushes on your bladder which causes you to wee when you don't want to. I had it with my first and I thought my waters had gone but it was just wee, really embarrassing at the time.

Thanks, I'm 33+3 with twins. I have been trying to set them off all morning but they're just playing games with me I've literally tried syrup flapjack, sugary rice crispies, salty crisps and ice cold water :(

Yeah at the minute I dunno whether it's fluid or wee but that's making me worry more, on top of all of my problems already severe SPD and kidney infection. I ideally want to keep them in as long as possible. I have been to the hospital so many times this week with one thing or another I'm sick xx

Hiya, I've never personally had this experience but a friend had something similar. We took her to hospital and they kept her in coz it turned out her babies had separate sacs and basically part of her waters had broken. Also if it were me if they hadn't moved I'd go in....I would feel better to see someone than speak on the phone.

I hope everything goes ok and I'm sure it'll all be fine. Maybe they are just playing silly buggers with you ;-)

Take care of yourself x

I think you should go to your labour ward for assessment just in case it is your waters. Mine broke in a very similar sounding situation to your except mine continued on and off throughout the day. That was at 29 weeks + 1. I was kept in hospital for monitoring for 48 hrs and was given steroids for baby's lungs and a course of antibiotics. I'm now 32 weeks + 3 and am being monitored at the hospital twice weekly.

I really do urge you to get it checked out, it could just be wee but best to make sure especially as kidney infections can cause premature rupture of membranes.

Good luck x

I had pyelonephritis at 28 weeks - the badder part of the infection can irritate the uterus (I had the most amazing braxton hicks at this point!)

I would go to Mat Assessment to be reviewed by a doctor - midwives are great at pregnancy related stuff, but this is a medical problem in pregnancy... I already think you are being under treated, so would okay it safe, especially with a twin pregnancy.
