Hi all lovely ladies.hope you are all ok and coping with this heat.i need a little moan today...i dont know why do i always get problems with my midwife?nothing will surprise me any more...i've written before that i had to change my first midwife because she was never there for me(when i had a laparoscopy to exclude ectopic pregnancy, then when i was bleeding),she's written in my pregnancy folder that i had a ecoli and cephalexin for it.but that never happened!i've never had any infection like that lol.anyway the consultant i've seen in march and head of midwives changed her because i couldnt trust her.i was so relieved as i thought at least now i'm gonna be looked after propely.but...this one is no better!unfortunetely in my surgery there is only two of them.my new midwife works part time so the only time i can contact her is when she works.i never felt like she cared.she knew how i felt about going into labour after having traumatic birth with my son.i've asked her to reffer me to see consultant when i was 20weeks pregnant.since then i've asked her every time i saw her.she kept saying she contacted hospital and will let me know whats happening.lucky the letter came today(i had to pay for it as there was no stamp!).when i rang hospital to book it ,they had to put me as an emergency appointement in 2weeks time.they told me i shouldve seen the consultant 8weeks ago!not 6weeks before baby is due!i just feel so let down :( my midwife only contacted them a week ago!thank God i wont have to see her again!i meant to see her this week but she's fully booked till august!i may have my baby by then lol.funny thing is that she booked me in to see the first midwife that i made complain about lol.and i suposed to see her in 2weeks time!i thought i'm not having this crap no more.i've contacted nhs (i forgot the name but they deal with complains).they've told me its a joke.i dont need to see the first midwife and actually i shouldnt see her.so now i've got head of midwives from my area that will look after me which i'm so happy to meet in 2days.she had no problems to squeeze me in with the other visits.and she couldnt believe that my next appoitment meant to be so far away.i just hope that now i can start enjoying the rest of my pregnancy as it wasnt easy ...:) thats me done for today xx

Glad you contacted presumably PALS and hope now you're seeing a senior midwife things settle down for you. It is very frustrating the effort you have to put in to get good service in some areas! X

My midwife is part time and is only in the GP surgery 1 afternoon a week which is a worry. Luckily I have got a local midwife centre that I can ring in another hospital where she is based if I have any problems when she is off, they are normally pretty good at coming back to you after you leave a message.

It is frustrating though as you probably feel that you are doing all the running about when they should be doing there job properly, I think the community midwifes are over stretched and just have so many woman to see BUT that isn't really your problem it needs sorting.
