Anyone had a 4d scan?

I keep thinking about getting one and they have an offer for £99 at a Harley Street clinic.... think it would be lovely for children to see and as a keepsake as I've never had one done before and this is my last chance x

Is that one where you get a video of it? Sorry to be thick... I have had a video one in Harley st but mainly because I went for an extra downs blood test (harmony) and they are compulsory.

It was amazing, I have a download of it and you can watch the little feet wiggling about and take stills of the images!

Kind of - really wanted a 4D but didn't want to know the sex of Flump, and didn't think I could make it through a while 4d without the game being given away.

I'm booked at a hospital I worked in a few years ago, and one of my growth scans was done by a different O&G consultant to my booked one, but one I knew very well from my A&E days. I was telling them about my worries about facial dysmoprhia (and worse) given all the things Flump was exposed to before I found out I was pregnant and, without a word, he flipped on the 4D mode! Fairly crude compared to a full, private scan, but I got a picture of his/her perfect little face - the detail is amazing! Hair, eyebrows, eyelashes - and daddy's chin! :-). There aren't many (/any) perks to working in the NHS (save for job satisfaction!) so that was super nice!

Ah making me want to do it even more! They say best time is between 24-32 weeks so think I just do it. ... makes it more real for everyone, my 6 year old always asks me how the baby looks every couple of weeks soi go on line and show him the fetus at that stage and he always asks if that's our baby so worth this I can say yes this is our baby! :)

just like Neska said, I would love to do a 4d scan as this is likley to be my last pregnancy, but the only Lil problem i have is the expense of it. If there were to be a possible sort of scheme i could have applied for i would definetly jump at the chance, but i personally will find it difficult to pay something like £70 - £80 for a detailed scan of baby.

We went with 'before the stalk'. Not sure if they are nation wide or just Liverpool based but we got (i think) about 8 pics for around £40. They have different packages for different budgets. We managed to squash both of our families in the room; it was such a good bonding experience for everyone. We wanted the vid originally but my bubba was a little camera shy and it wouldn't have been worth it... But the experience and photos was enough for us anyway. :) Btw for those not wishing to know sex, they ask you before hand and can just stay focused on the face. We went at 28 weeks too which seemed the right level of plumpness and not too big so she could still move around.

My friend got one, I think they look kinda freaky but I suppose if it is your own baby you wouldn't feel like that about the picture.

The sonographer really pushed on my tummy at my 20w scan and we seen the babies face, it was so cute.

I also had a same sort of view at my 20wk scan as the sonographer was really firm. It actually surprised me so much, i sort of jumped back in a fright.

I was also very happy with what i could see too though as she seems to be very active in there.

I will be going for a 4D scan next Sat with my husband, daughters and godmother-to-be. We're all really looking forward to seeing baby in so much detail. My daughters are 13 and 15 so already have a good understanding of how baby is growing, but it'll be great to see those images. Up to now we're ignorant of baby's gender. We're not going to deliberately ask, but as he/she is such a wriggler I think all my be revealed and we will find out if those cute dresses and pink clothes my daughters wore will have a place in the baby's closet :-)

I've been considering the same thing, 4d or not 4d. Still undecided but found out that yeovil NHS hospital offer baby bonding scans which cost about £65, no dvd but pictures on a cd - if you google they have a pdf leaflet. I can't help wondering why my NHS trust doesn't offer 4d, yeovil is a bit far for me to be worth it :(

Can you let us know where is the offer for the 4D scan?
