Hospital Bag and Hospital Chose

1-What should I prepare for the hospital bag?

2- My ultrasounds are carried in atford General Hospital. I live near it. So, do I need to tell the hospital that I want to deliver there? Or when my deliver starts can I go without saying anything to the hospital? What is the procedure in UK?

Just go to your hospital were you have been having your treatment for scans, injections & bloods. They will have all your notes there and just take your hand held notes in with you. Obviously when the day comes and you go into labour you or your other half will ring the labour ward number that is in your notes to tell them and the ward will tell you. You need to know where the labour suites are in the hosp so maybe a good idea to go and get yourself familier with the route & where the ward is before you are in labour as you dont want to be arguing with each other in the corriders cause you are lost.

Google what to put in your hospital bag plus bounty have a good check list on there website.

Hi, with my last child i had my appointments at my local hospital but had to go into the main maternity unit in town due to my local hospital only having a midwife led unit. The midwife should of spoken to you. Does your local hospital that you javelin been using have a full maternity ward? When you go into labour you normally need to phone the maternity ward to let them know you are coming and they can see if there is room, find out when you need to go to hospital etc.

Some hospitals do tours around the maternity/delivery suites so maybe see if you can get on one of those to become familiar with everything. I live 20 mins drive from Watford (but opted for another hospital) and one tip I can give you is that if your labour kicks in and there's a football match there are contingency plans in place. Approach a policeman/woman and say that you are in labour and they will let you through. Are you due soon? If so, the season is over so you should be safe! xx
