My son had his first treatment of Ocrevus yesterday. Anyone have any experience with this? I would love to hear. Thank you!

I use to take it. There are a lot of posts from people starting it on this forum, you can search “Ocrevus” to see the posts and comments.

Ocrevus has worked well for me. It usually takes over to three weeks after each infusion the me to get back to my baseline. Others have immediate results. Good luck to the son.

Adorable photo! I hope his infusion went well and that ocrevus works for your son.

I usually doze during the infusion, benedryl knocks me out. I might not sleep as well and may be a little more tired then usual for a couple days.

I have never noticed any improvement or difference in my ms symptoms afterward, but I don't expect to. I just hope that it slows progression and prevents new lesions.

I have been on Ocrevus since 4/2019. It takes away all my MS symptoms for about 5 months. It takes about a week for all the symptoms to disappear. I didn't take the steroid premed this time due to having been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation. I didn't have any problems at all by not taking it. I did take the Benadryl. I have not had any bad reactions to the drug, not even at the infusion site. Ocrevus has been the best treatment yet in the 16 years since being diagnosed. I'm sorry your son has to go through this disease, he is so young and adorable.

Thank you. I posted a picture of him when he was a child. He is actually 28 now and a father himself.

Ocrevus is my 3rd DMT in nine years and I am happy to be on it. I do get the steroid and Benadryl before hand, but I only request 1/2 of the Benadryl dose. I just received my 3rd infusion and I've not had any issues. Does it wear off prior to six months? Probably. They scheduled my next one at 5 1/2 months. Good luck to your son!

I just had my first Ocrevus infusion about 3 weeks ago. I had the steroid and Benadryl. Slept thru the infusion. Slight improvement noticed with urination-being able to empty bladder enough to sleep thru the night, and slight improvement with lessening of fatigue. Unfortunately no improvement with balance, for which I’d hoped. Although dmt is just to prevent worsening of ms. No problems with infusion or Ocrevus.

Happy Mother’s Day!! Adorable picture! Good luck to him and you

Happy mother's day. Hope this will be a good treatment for your son like it's been for me. No MS activity, symptoms can start to recede if you work at it (exercise, diet,...). For some, it seems to wear off before 6 months. For me, it lasts longer up to 9 months. We all have our own ms, and your son will learn overtime what works best for him. Good luck! it's great that you support him.

Thank you so much. I will give updates. He was a special operations man in the military who worked so hard to become what he did but had to give it all up due to MS. He was the first on his team to be diagnosed with MS and now there have been quite a few more. Heartbreaking. All the words of encouragement mean so much. I will pass it all to him.

I used to take it. I tried to but unfortunately I didn’t get any results out of it at all. So my doctor stop administering it to me and now I have to get a spinal tap.

I've been on Ocrevus for a few years and never had any side effects, even after the first dose.
