yes and I did check it out and it made me angry. I went years with doctors blowing me off and patronizing me and when, in my mid 50's I started having serious cognitive issues (got lost going to the grocery store I visited every week for years) they did a CT scan of my brain which showed numerous lesions. At that point one would think they would start questioning all the other symptoms and start looking deeper. Nope. they told me to stop smoking (which I had already done months before) and sent me to a therapist to deal with my "anxiety issues". No MRI, no testing, no nothing. Just like all the others. It wasn't for another 2 years until I got Medicare and was able to see a real doctor who listened to my story and immediately sent me for that MRI and didn't wait to refer me to a neurologist.. sent me right away with the MRI already scheduled.. Within weeks I had been diagnosed. Looking back at all the years I had been trying to find out what was wrong with me and now reading that article about knowing how much damage was done I am angry. I just had an MRI a month after a relapse. I got the results yesterday. I have 10 new lesions in my brain and 2 new ones in my cervical spine. I am devastated. I can't help think how different it might be if i had been diagnosed after my daughter was born in my late 20's when i was starting to have symptoms. I am now secondary progressive. I am 63 and it really wasn't supposed to be this way.. 😢
