Are you ready for summer? Heat Sensitive?

I know I certainly am! When I think about it, I was very heat sensitive the whole summer before I actually went numb with my first true MS symptoms. I went to the doctor and she told me I just ran out of electrolytes and the heat just magnified my reaction to the heat. I was riding a 45 mile bicycle ride at the time, which I was quite used to riding in those conditions. MSAA offers some great cooling products. I received the cooling vest and it is great! I wear it when I go shopping. I wear it and a big floppy hat when I'm trying to do some gardening.. Thank you MSAA!

Funny how clear things are when you look back! In high school, I didn’t like to use a hair dryer in the summer because it “made me tired”. It actually made me tired, I just didn’t know why 😂 Didn’t bother me, I slept an extra 10min and would “dry” my hair by driving with the windows down 😬

Growing up and into my early 20s I was not heat sensitive but as I got older I became more sensitive to it and then of course I was diagnosed with the monster know as MS.

Thanks for the tip. I will try Skechers again. I had a pair a long time ago and they are very comfortable. My right foot is a size 7 and my left foot is a size 5. ❤️

I couldn't go outside without it living in the south-west. I even have a cooler for backup ice packets if out longer than 3 hrs.

It's interesting to recognize in retrospect all those early symptoms. I worked days and went to LA State (now Cal State LA) at night. I parked at the bottom of the hill the school sits on and climbed long wooden stairways to the top. Often one knee or other would suddenly give out or I would trip and fall, scattering my books and papers on the stairs. Decades later I experienced the same thing teaching at night at a community college. Beach and desert trips were a common part of my Southern California upbringing but were always difficult for me because I became overheated more quickly than others in the family and could not lie out in the sun or take long hikes up desert or foothill trails. Now I am very familiar with the sudden weakness in a hip, knee or ankle joint, with tripping caused by foot drop, and overheating followed by fatigue...but since these symptoms began more than 60 years ago, I've learned to work around them and live with them.
