New Neuro update

Saw my new Neuro Monday. He is a nice guy and very knowledgable. He didn't like that my last neuro had me taking 10mg of Baclofen every 2 hours, he told me to try and stretch it to 3 hours, which so far I have been able to do. He took me off of Tizanidine as I take 200mg of Tegretol at night. He said he was 'not comfortable' in prescribing me that much medication. I haven't stopped the Tizanidine just yet because it's in my pillbox planner through Sunday morning. When I refill it tomorrow I will not add it in.

He ordered a lot of bloodwork that for some reason didn't get all sent at the same time and I received a call from his office telling me I needed to have one of the labs' rerun. Didn't tell me which one or why. I went to have it rerun last week and got a call that the test was not rerun but another test was run. I kind of figured it hadn't been rerun as I received the lab results online and it didn't look like it had been rerun. This is getting irritating. I'm going to call her Monday and ask her for details of the test and IF the order was sent over cause I'm getting tired of the runaround...especially since I don't drive and depend on someone to take me to get it done. I hope this is not a peek into what my future what this new neuro will be for lab work.

That's my update for now :)

Jessie

It looks like he’s being very careful and evaluating your meds. I hope he turns out to be a gem.

I’ve had a couple of very good doctors who settled for staff who weren’t well-trained or who just didn’t stay on top of things. You might let the doctor know about this when you see him next.

Definately going to ask him when I see him what was going on with the labs not being sent all at once.

It’s good u found someone who is evaluating u and trying 2 figure out what is needed.

Yes call n make sure what’s going on.

Tell them u will not go and do the labs until they confirm that the order is there. Or better yet have them mail u the order then go. My drs give me my lab orders and I go and do them all at once.

I just don't know who messed up with the orders...new dr entering them in the computer or the lab registration people not pulling all the orders. Sometimes it's like the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. Had that when my last neuro was new there...labs didn't get sent to the right place at first. I suppose, a learning curve for all ;)

a new doctor can be a blessing sometimes, because they don't just renew the meds that you've one but have to think about why you're on it and whether there is a better alternative.

hope you're getting on a good path.

It’s important that you like your neurologist and that you trust them to do the best job that they can do for you. Hope it all turns out ok, Blessings Jimeka 🤗

What a pain in the rear! If there is no time to send you a copy of the order, have them tell you what test they need. When you're there ask if that is the test they are doing. If not, tell them to contact the doctor. That whole thing is nuts!!

This whole thing has been nuts and I don't know who to blame. Calling doc in the morning to see what has to be done and if that order has indeed been sent in. Stay tuned.

Thanks. I do feel like a pin cushion, a little bit. Especially when the first guy took the blood...ouch. The 2nd girl that did it, I barely felt it. Who knows who will be there tomorrow.
