Random spasms in arm or thigh for very brief period of time? Is this an ms symptom?

Less than 24 hours random spasms may be for a few minutes. Has anyone experience this? Is it part of an ms symptom? I have difficulty determining what may be from ms and what may be normal

I get spasms from my MS. Most of the time, they’re not painful, just kind of annoying. If I can’t sleep b/c of them or they get real painful, I take baclofen or Tizanidine.

Thanks for the info. How long do they last normally?

I have been on Aubagio for the last two years and no side effects 👍. Last two MRI’s were stable and no new lesions 🙏. I really enjoy not doing shots as thru the last twenty five years I have been on seven different DMT’s as they quit working and new better alternatives came out 👍. Talk with your ms specialist and my opinion get on something as soon as possible to help slow down progression of ms. Good Luck and have a wonderful day 🙏😉 Ken 🐾🐾

Spasms are certainly a main feature of MS. I have spasms in many areas, but not all are really painful.

Thank you. How long do the spasms last? Are some very short like a minute and then others longer?

Some are very transient, lasting mere moments, and others last for hours. All vary in intensity.

I get leg spams that I take baclofen and tizanidine for. These spams get painful if I don't take my meds on time. Recently I have had spasms in my left upper arm but they are not painful and last for a short period of time. They tend to happen in the evening for me.

Is the tightness and stiffness associated with spasms?. If so, I have both in my right leg and when I stand up my leg is sooooooo stiff. I am taking baclofen for it but sometimes I take a advil. In bed, I have to keep my right knee bent. Keeping my leg straight for a long period of time makes it hurt worse.

Hi yes i notice stiffness when i get up. for me it feels spasms or that cramping will start if i bend in my legs or hands unless i keep them down when laying down. Stiffness and slight spasm when walking

I get the cramps also. Walking is hard. My right knee locks back. I am in the process of trying a knee brace to keep it pushed outward. When I am sitting down, my knee is good but when I stand up it locks back and its hard to walk.
