Serious Foot Pain

For many years my right foot has always had a numbness and 'frostbite-like' burn in the toes. I have had times with occasional foot pain walking and squatting down. Lately there is a much deeper foot pain when walking and other activity. If someone else has this type of pain, what helps best? I am taking Carbamazepine when the pain is bad, and it does help, but this deeper pain is a concern.

Thanks.......

Is your doctor aware of this change in the level and type of pain? Since not every symptom is directly attributable to MS, your doctor may want to investigate, as well as offer something more effective for you pain. I hope you get answers and relief quickly.

Thanks for response. My right foot has had the 'burn/numb' pain for many years which my doctor attributes to my MS, and I am waiting for a response from him concerning this new pain. I've assumed it is just the MS pain getting worse, but you're right that it could be something additional too....

2kiggy, sounds like the same pain that my brother describes from his Gout, just throwing out an idea and hope it relents soon!

I have "frostbite" in the toes of both my feet. When I touch them they are warm and fine. I don't feel it much during the day but when I go to bed at night is when it really hurts. My neuro changed my depression med to Cymbalta which is "supposed to" help. It did for a day or two but it's right back. So I wear socks to bed and it "fools" my feet into thinking they're cozy (sometimes). Otherwise I just put up with it.

I don’t have it anymore, but I was having a relapse at the time and a new lesion on my spinal cord. It took a while to go away, and unfortunately the steroids didn’t help. I had a med change too. I would wake up with the pain and “cold socks”, and had to hobble around most mornings. I think hot epson salt soaks helped the most, but I took alieve and tried CBD oil and they didn’t help.
