Botox???

What’s others experience with Botox for bladder issues?

I’ve had mixed results; mostly it seems the frequency and urge hasn’t changed, just the method I use (self-catheterization.) 😬

The only “up” side I can see right now is that I somewhat control when I go, and I don’t need to wear extra protection and fear embarrassing “accidents!😆

Thanks!

I was reading up on the boxtox like a week ago. I read it can cause UTi's. UTi's aren't good for MS. I would talk to your Neurologist (MS specialist) about it first. ❤🌷

As a matter-of-fact, I did get a UTI after the treatment! Unfortunately, I won’t completely get away from the catheter (urine retention), but maybe I could lessen the number of times and thus the odds for infection?!

My mum used to have latex injected and that would last her a couple of years. Slightly painful procedure, as it was done awake. Let us know how you go on, blessings Jimeka 🦋

That sounds very painful, jimeka, I have never heard of that. :-)

Mum couldn’t have general anaesthetic and by the time the local had taken affect, the procedure was over, but it worked. 👍

Latex? What does that do?

It’s what they make rubber gloves with. It helped retain the water in the bladder. It was injected into the neck of the bladder.🦋

Wow! I know what latex is but I’d never heard of it being used internally. Amazing what they can do!

It’s maybe old school now as it will be 8 years since mum had it last done, she passed 6 years ago. 🦋

Hi bls,

I had my first botox treatment for bladder incontinence three weeks ago. So far, so good. Have control back and almost normal frequency. Am going back for follow up in about another week. I guess I'll find out then if they see too much retention.

For me, it was a game changer because I before, I was wearing heavy duty pads 24/7 and having to change at least 8 times a day, and having skin irritation problems. Now, no pads and no accidents.

I don't know if that was helpful or not, but I hope it gets better for you.

Less or no pads is a definite plus! I had worry of accidents and skin irritation !

If I could just have less trips to the bathroom at night, that was my main goal. 😬

I am scared of Botox injections as it is a form of poison.

I initially said the same thing!😁
