Appointments for January

Oh, joy! New deductibles! For many, the new year means new insurance, too.

Do you have appointments you'd like to share with the group? We'd love to know about them and offer encouragement.

Yes, I called my Neurologist on 12/26 for IV steroids as I was battling some obnoxious symptoms and he said "I need to see you 1st."

WTH? He is the one who got me hooked on this wonderful concoction. I've only taken it twice in 8 months..

But fine, I see him on 1/3/19.

Jan 9th for my 5th Ocrevus infusion starting down my 2 year mark with the big O. It was supposed to be in December but due a scheduling communication error.... they didn't tell me until the day before.... I had to reschedule until the first of the year so it all works out. Urs big insurance changes come about and the put of pockets and deductables reset

.. yuck!

The only one I have is for teeth cleaning and check up at the dentist.

I tell her,"It's safe."

I have my neurologist on January 3 2019

I have a couple lined up for January. I'm back in the deductible game as I lost my funding that paid for my deductibles.

Finished up most of mine this month 👍. End of January is teeth 🦷 cleaning 🙏. Pet scan for cancer ♋️ this month shows 50/50 chance at two years 👍. Lots better than 4-6 months 🙏. Throat scan shows damage to muscles from surgery and radiation along with MS. Also as you get older throat muscles wear. So they mentioned surgery but I said No as side effects and possibilities out weighed the positive side. So we will adapt and live with it for now. So stay positive gang and prayers are with everyone for better health and happiness for 2019🙏👍😊 Ken 🐾♋️

If MS doesn't interfere with walking, arthritis will.on a cane for 3 months. Trying to avoid replacing hip. Venturing into unknown, PRP (platelet rich plasma ) injection jan.10th. Similar to stem cell, and research still in early stages. Still takes a while to heal, but keep my body part, no incision and no nursing home (one of biggest factors). Can do regular rehab at home.

Appreciate prayers for success.

Then think abt appt with neuro and whether or not to discuss SPMS. About 1/2 the strength I was 2 yrs ago and crashing 3 hrs after I do an activity. But he keeps saying no new lesions. He dosesnt really know me very well. Am 71, got off copaxone 18 yrs and have no interest in new meds

God is good and giving me strength to adapt.

On the 2nd I have my chiro appt (every 2 weeks) and my Dermatologist appt (finally) after they never called after the referral was faxed TWICE and then having to call them (was busy all the time and put on hold forever). Have to have a spot on my 2nd toe checked as my family dr said possible melanoma and a spot on my left leg from an injection site scar that grew and now has been painful. Family dr said scar tissue, will see what Derm says.

I have a few appointments at the beginning of the month. I try to stack them so my hubby doesn't have to take off too much from work. I have both an appointment with my neuro and the urologist on the 9th, and I also need to get my backside pump refilled before the 9th. That should have happened last week but the dang thing kept shifting around. After a couple dozen attempts to locate the full port, the tech said we'll have to Terry at the hospital where they have the equipment to see the pump inside of me. Sigh.

I’m sorry about the pump and the complications. Let us know how your appointments go.

I’m seeing my primary neurologist on the 12th. He is in New York. I also have a local neurologist who facilitates my Rituxan infusions locally in CT. Instead of driving 90 minutes (and paying $60 to park) to get the infusion, I can drive 10 minutes!

That’s terrific!
