Hi everyone. I'm a newbie here. I miss being able to drive. I live outside of town and find the longer I'm disabled people forget you.

I find mine some days but it does get lost. I try to keep a schedule. But as you can see it is 2:30 am not falling to sleep until after 3am it’s hard to do.

But your not alone. I wish I had something more to say to you.

Hi Debbie, my name isSandra I had to take an early retirement. I use to work in the schools with kindergarteners I do miss the kids not the adults. But that’s good to have a job, do you do that at home or at an office.

Can you still walk? I stay inside most of the time. My church built me a ramp so I can go out but it has been hit and it NEVER rains.

I had the Boy Scouts put a ramp together I use a rollator that’s a walker with brakes and it has a seat but I also use a wheelchair manly if I go out.

Hi mossell welcome! No one is ever a newbie for long here! 😀 Being forgotten is a great fear for allot of people! 🙁😒 But I think communication is so important! Explain to them, that you are still here, unless you don't want them there!🙃

I don't drive either. I can be a pain! 😕But I make it work. 😀

🤗💕

Mossell, it's Fancy1959 and I would officially welcome you to our awesome chat room. You are now part of our extended family and as such we promise you several things. We promise to make this chat room a safe place to come and ask questions, voice concerns, or simply speak to others who truly understand what you're going through. While you were seeking his information, we promise you going to speak to some of the most caring, kind, and compassionate people you have ever met. And lastly we promise that you will never be forgotten in this chat room. Many of us find that the longer we are disabled the harder it becomes to keep up with old friends and we suddenly find ourselves with fewer and fewer outside friends that can offer support. But on the flip side of this most of us agree that the friendships we have made in this chat room and the binds that have created them are amazing.

So welcome to our family and we you know you'll find the fellowship and the support you are seeking! The more questions you ask in the more posts to reply to the quicker we will get to know you and you will get to know us. I am certain there is much we can learn from each other. Please take care until we speak again and remember that together we are stronger! Fancy.😉🤗

Hey mossell,

Welcome to this forum!

Like you probably have started to realize, this forum has many caring individuals just ready and willing to share what they know about this ms, their experiences, what works for them, etc. While not knowing every aspect of this ms, we all have knowledge to share that can perhaps tackle this together. So, jump in, and we can all be there for each other.

Welcome to a great group!

I’m sorry you’re feeling separated. It is harder to stay coonected when we can’t drive.

I hope this group helps you feel more connected. We are available 24/7, too!

I’m sorry you are feeling this way. I outfitted my car with hand controls and it made a world of difference. I suck at driving, but I go slow and steady. It allows me to keep playing music at different venues and that is so important.

I don’t know if that is a possibility for you, but don’t give in to the dark side. Try to find a way to live with the beast.

Newbies are always welcome. I was one too!

So you can't drive, I'm assuming because of your legs & feet. Google "vocational rehabilitation" to find the one in your area. My son gets voc rehab and when he was going through the screening to qualify the woman told me that if I ever get to the point where I have trouble driving, THEY WILL PAY to have hand controls put on my car! So look them up!
