I'm going to rant...not for the faint of heart.

I have MS like the majority of us do on this site. Well, it has been aggressive and I have been on 5 medications in 3 years...5! I also fell years ago and broke my kneecap in half, yes, in half. I ended up with a total knee out of that one at age 40. I have severe arthritis in my feet which makes it hard to walk because of the pain.

On to the newer, more life threatening problem...i am going in for an angiogram on Tuesday and am scared to death! For those of you who don't know what that is, they put a wire in your heart and lungs and measure intake and output.

Did I mention that I am only 48? Why does it seem that some people have the brunt of medical problems, while others go through life with just a scratch?

It doesn't seem fair...😕

Hi Wizardsmom ! I am so sorry that you have gone through so much and it has died down yet. I will keep you in my prayers for better days!

I believe I’ve read several times that people with MS are more likely to have other medical issues. Is it the procedure or the possible results that are giving you a fright right now?

Both. The procedure is scary but the diagnosis is even worse. Pulmonary hypertension is what they are looking for and that gives a person maybe a 10 year life span. I am terrified!

Gah, I’m so sorry! The procedure should be cake. The worst of it is usually lying flat afterwards for what seems like eternity. It would be another low blow for someone so young. I don’t know how you’re staying sane while you wait 😵🤗 and I hope that PAH gets ruled out.

Hey Wizardsmom,

It's totally okay to vent! Many on this forum know what you are going though.

Please stay strong and I am praying for your quick recovery!

Explain to the nursing staff that you are really scared and they may give you something to calm your nerves. Please keep us informed when you are able. It’s the strong who get afflicted, so stay strong, we are all behind you, blessings Jimeka 🦋 🙏

Thank you for telling me what an angiogram is, I was not sure. Best of luck for a boring healthy result. Take care to relax and just go with the flow.

I completely understand. I'm one of those that if the wind blows wrong something goes wrong with me.

Try to keep a positive additude yo get through it easier. We are just being tested.

Best of luck! I wish positive things to come your way!

It’s never what we expect and certainly not what we asked for.

If I had to give up something from my life to change the outcome, I don’t think I could choose what that would be.

Everything was going so well before this.

Good luck on your angiogram. Use whatever you have to cope.

None of this is fun. Please let us know how it turns out.

Sorry you are having to go through all this. The good news is doctors have been doing this procedure for a long time now, it's not a new thing. They use this procedure to rule out some really bad stuff that can be going on. If they do find something, the good news is you are only 48, this means they are catching it early before it gets to be something even worse. I know its scary. Do tell the nurses that you are really scared & they will give you something to calm you down as the doctor needs you to be as close to normal as possible for this. Let us know what the results are. We are all pulling and I'm praying for you.

Krissy, it doesn't seem fair at all. You can rant away all you like with me. I completely understand and agree with you! With me you can even get out your pity pot, too. If you don't mind I'm going to rant some. My MS is really starting to suck. I look healthy and normal but nothing works below my waist. Big problem for me now is that I can't tell when I'm going to have a BM anymore! It's turned me into a recluse! My Mom passed away two months ago and left the three of us some cash. My brother is going to Jamaica, my sister is going to improve her house and me?? I have to get my Pride scooter fixed and I need to buy a handicapped van with a ramp for my lovely disease so I can get around! I see all these morons on TV walking around making money and I can't do that, either. No, it's not fair at all! You can read more about my wonderful life at scooterjon58.com if you like.
