Ocrevus beginning

Since I received the second IV for the first month of treatment with Ocrevus I have it felt right. My throat hurts, I’m very fatigued. I can’t sleep enough which is unlike me. I’m weak and falling everyday. I’ve hit my head twice, which has never happened to me. It is spring and I do have hay fever. I can’t stop feeling itchy all over. I had a fierce UTI which required Cipro for 7 days, twice a day. Should I be worried or is this usual?!?

Please advise!

Patty

Hi Patty, you are the second person this week to complain for unpleasant side affects after Ocrevus treatment. Obviously not everyone responds to it in the same way. I do hope that your symptoms improve. Blessings Jimeka 🦋 🍫

I’m sorry you are having a rough time. The UTI is enough to cause a flare, perhaps steroids are needed? I would let my neuro know or if you have, let them know you’ve finished the antibiotics and still feel awful.

I have a question for you and it’s did you let your neurologist know about your issues because those are all allergic reactions. I say this because once you get the next dose that one is going to be a full dose.

Believe it or not, I haven’t told my neurologist! I love the idea of getting a medication that will prevent any and all relapses. I fear my Dr will not want me to continue using Ocrevus. Thanks for the reply you sent me. And thanks to you, I am going to reach out to my Neurologist! Great advice :)

Patty154,

Have you talked to your Doctor? They are trained on how to manage this.

I'm so sorry you are experiencing this. Please let me know how you're doing.

Patty I also just received my initial treatment of Ocrevus and him doing much worse with my falling instability and walking. I also forgot to mention that I had a UTI as well but I got a lot of great responses from this group and many of them felt that we just had to wait and see and that it it takes anywhere from 3 to 6 months to see the effects of Ocrevus. But again share it with your doctor.

Patty154: I feel very fatigued after infusions but none of the other symptoms. Make sure you talk to your doctor. You are in my prayers 🙏.

I’m actually documenting my experiences for my neurologist. I’m still very optimistic. No further relapses makes me feel as though I’m cured!!! Thanks for sharing!
