I recently read a blog where a person with MS seemed highly irritated by the folks who say things such as, "I will pray for you." I had not set up a login for that particular forum so I thought I'd mention my thoughts here, hoping I'm not alone. Maybe I am or maybe I'm in the minority but I find nothing wrong with somebody offering sincere prayers on my behalf. In fact, I find it comforting. If I knew the person was a professing believer who saw my struggles and they did not pray for me, I think I might be more offended than being told they are! True, a person can pray silently to themselves without bringing attention to the fact they are doing it. It is not for me to judge anybody's intentions on why they choose to tell me. If, indeed, they are doing it simply to look good, they have to square with that, not me. If they mean it from a sincere heart, then I welcome all the prayers I can get. I'd sure rather have somebody offer up a prayer than send a "good vibe" or "hugs" my way. A petition? To their God? For me? Pretty touching, in my opinion.

I find it comforting when someone offers to pray for me....as long as it's sincere.
Yes, I read that, too, and it disturbed me. How on earth could I be offended by someone offering prayer?
I (briefly, for obvious reasons) had a friendship with someone who was offended that people said, “good morning” to her. She said it put expectations on her that were too high!

And this comment is exactly why some don't appreciate others offering prayers for them. Like your comment, it comes with a judgment and a condemnation that someone is missing out by not believing in your preferred religious beliefs. It's condescending and intrusive.
I welcome all the prayers I can get. I’m also happy to pray for anyone anytime. I know my God answers prayers but he can’t answer prayers if they aren’t prayed.
Please all of you pray for me anytime you think of me. And I’ll do the same for you. God is good all the time.

Some people are so fake. GOD is good all the time and if someone find it in their heart to pray for me I truly appreciate it.
Yes, they are, but He knows their heart. So, they aren't fooling anybody who matters!

Oh, I sure do, too. I've certainly witnessed it first hand. I think some folks don't because they aren't seeing the results THEY expect. That is where they misunderstand. He has not promised to get us out of anything but He is always there to walk with us through it.

Nice to meet you.I can't agree with you more,and even if one believes in no higher idea good thoughts sincere are my blessing.a friend was honest with one day when she was suffering I asked if I could say a prayer for her.she became flustered and said..i get you but why don't people think when I say my own prayers that He answers me and I don't need more.ok now I get that..for me, I'm specific and the more pleas for help,angels,research, new meds etc I figure is great.ive had true miracles,still really ill right now in particular but believe.yes it can be a passing word like hiya but I've even been known to beg of a God that knows me.ty for opening our eyes.🎈
Exactly. It seems sorta sad to me when folks get so angry about something like that. It shows they are hurting. We never really know anybody's whole story. Sometimes it's hard to remember that...not just as the person who has done the unintentional offending but also as the person who was so easily offended.
Everyone has their own beliefs, but I think the people in the MS community care and understand each other’s problems👍. I think thru 🙏 is how we servive👍. I include my family, friends, and the MS community nightly in my prayers 🙏🙏Also the furbabies 👍🙏🐾😉 Ken
I agree. My sweet furbaby died this past year. I miss him every day.

Prayers are great.
However, not everyone is a believer.
And you have to be careful as to who the person is praying to because it may not coincide with your beliefs.
I am a Christian. So, my G*D isn't the same as someone who believes and prays to Vishnu.
I am a Christian, too. I pray for my friends and family who are believers as well as those I don't know but have been touched by their story. I also pray for those who are not believers. My thought is that it can't hurt and it's always possible it could actually help. After all, Jesus did not come to save the righteous. At the same time, if somebody prays for me to what I believe is a false God, I don't believe my God will condemn me for their unbelief. Therefore, I will not be offended by that, either. I just think everybody needs to stop being put off by what others say and do and let God, alone, judge the heart.
I agree. Don't be put off. However, the Enemy comes in my different shapes, sizes, and names.

I welcome all positive energy, thoughts, vibes, prayers and anything else good that anyone cares to take time out of their day to send my way. Some of those forums are black holes of negativity.
I pray but there are times when I think she’s not listening.
I certainly don’t mean to imply that all prayers are or should be answered.
