Really rough day

I woke up this morning and knew instantly I was in trouble. My left side was paralyzed, just could not move my arm or leg. I really needed to use the restroom, so I called my husband, he works two blocks from our house. I could not reach him, so I called his coworker who is also my dear friend. When she answered, I realized I could hardly talk. I managed to convey I was in trouble and she sent him home. I couldn’t wait, so I crawled into the bathroom so I wouldn’t wet the bed. Then I was stuck. I couldn’t stand up. Thankfully within two minutes he got home and helped me. My face and head were shaking like crazy with huge tremors. He gave me my meds only to find out that I now could not swallow! We tried calling the neuro for twenty minutes, finally he dressed me and packed me into their office. I could not be seen they said, ooh I was so mad. I spoke to a nurse, she said to go to the ER. I had my hubby just bring me home. He helped me get in a nightie and put me to bed. He had to get to an important meeting (one of those you really cannot miss), and I have just been in bed since then. Man, I hate this stinking rotten disease. It just keeps progressing without even asking for my permission 😾. But like we all do, we just look for positive blessings in our lives. We are expecting grand baby number16 next week, a little girl. Our family is just getting huge. I have the most wonderful husband. The Lord blesses me daily, even though I have constant, excruciating pain. I see the neuro later this month. God bless all of you, my lovely ms family. Love, Kelly xx

Not being able to move happened to me recently too. It turned out I had the flu. Don’t know why it affected me that way, could you have something else going on too, that is triggering inability to move? Hope you get better🌹

Oh Kelly, I am lost for words. I have just been reading an article about a blood test that will not only confirm that we have ms but also what type we have. Apparently it's going to save the insurance companies lots of money, as they will be able to offer the appropriate treatment. Whoopiedo !!! I think first of all they have to find a treatment that works. How long must everyone suffer before they find something that gives relief. I am sorry that you are in such pain, I pray that you can find some relief. Congratulations on expecting another grandchild. I have no 4 due in July. It's nice to see you back on the forum again, have you heard how Jaqui is doing? I wish I could do something for you, virtual flowers, hugs and chocolate and my prayers are all I can offer, and healing at the end of the 🌈 Love and blessings Jimeka xx

Oh, Kelly! How I wish you lived closer! I'm so sorry for what you're going through right now on top of all you deal with.

I wish I could do more than just pray, but prayer is powerful, so I will do lots of that.

I’m sorry! That sounds awful to deal with. I hope you get your abilities back.

Oh my gosh, what a bad day 😩. I have been fortunate that MS has not hit me that hard 🙏 When I got throat cancer that was a different story 😠 It was a daily routine on and off for a year. I really feel for you, it is so hard to deal with 🤷🏼‍♂️. I just prayed a-lot and turned it over to the Lord or I would have gone crazy 😝 My prayers are with you and your family 🙏🙏 Bless you and hope you get feeling better 👍😉🐾🐩 Ken

Amore55 I totally agree with cheilke about finding a new neurologist if they treat you like they did yesterday! I'm so sorry you are going through this. I hope you feel better really soon.

I am so sorry 😐 your going through this hell I have had this monster with me since 2004 but I think it’s been longer. My husband is a really great man he’s been working late hours with these storms he’s working for a company who cuts down trees. I am saying this because after 4 p.m. my legs feel like rubber on Monday evening he wasn’t home and of course I had to go to the bathroom fast well you know that didn’t happen. I wear the poise pads #5 they are a godsend. I am saying this just Incase that happens again I hope that doesn’t happen you will be prepared. I also use a rollator it has wheels and a seat it does keep me up I really don’t know how I did that but I did it.

I hope you are feeling better.

I do have to say I never would tell anyone I use pads but with all of you. I didn’t have to think about that.

Amore55 Oh, Kelly, Despite your painful struggle, you strategize do and thought calmly and clearly. You are indeed a warrior! This disease attacks relentlessly, yet brave warriors like you confront with as many resources as can be gathered. Shame on your neurologist's office! Even when medicine cannot do anything immediately, our common humanity requires us to show compassion and care for those of us in trouble.

goatgal I could not agree with you more. At my neuro’s office, they spoke to me in the waiting room. They didn’t show me the courtesy of even a private conversation, as there were so many people around. I must confess that I felt like cattle being driven along. “No time for you even though you cannot use your left side, can barely talk or swallow and are in horrible pain”. Must step back and review if this is the kind of office in which I want to place my life’s care. Sending hugs. Kelly xx

Oh Kelly, it's Fancy1959. Kelly do you feel me there, holding your hand right now. Oh how I wish I could be there in person. Why can't we transport ourselves and be with our dear friends moments of their dire need? My thoughts, my prayers, and everything I own right now are directed toward positive thoughts for you. It makes me realize right now as bad as this monster is nipping at my back side I could be so much worse off. On Sunday all my love in your direction and helping somehow it eases your pain and anxiety. I am furious with your neurologist. Did you ever consider trying to find a different one? If you would like I can give you the National MS Society phone number. If you call them a case worker will help you to find what they call their Partners In Hope a neurologist office in your area that will do all they can to help you. They will never give up on you. I know I went to one of their Partners in Hope and it was a life-changing experience as I fight this monster we both battle. Call the National MS Society at 1 800 fight MS. Explain your situation and see if they have an emergency openings. It sure can't hurt to try as long as you can work the phone and talk into it okay. Please check your direct messages. I'm sending you all my love again. Fancy.
