Wow. I know my cognitive issues are getting a lot worse now. I'm gave a cspine MRI tomorrow and I forgot to have Dr's office call in my ativan. I truly hope I don't freak out on them. I can't postpone it because it took 2 weeks to get this appt and I have a follow up visit Sept 5. Tomorrow is not going to be one my my better days. All prayers are appreciated.

To all who don't know me by now I really don't do MRI s well.

Love you all.

Donnie

I feel your pain I have claustrophobia to so what I have done when I didn't have some one to drive me I went by myself I asked the person doing the test I ask them not to tell me how long each test is going to be. Like this is going to be 10 minutes long put on everything like eye covering, ear plugs, the cotton they put in the Cage around your head. Then I pray, I count, say the alphabet forwards and backwards. I also ask for a blanket. It has worked. I know this is easier said than done.

Try to relax.

Good luck to you.

Doubled51 remember, close your eyes before you go in the MRI. Count your blessings, and remember that this forum is one of those blessings, when you think of all the lovely people on here who are praying and sending good thoughts your way. Let us know how you get on. Blessings Jimeka 🦋 🌈 🤗 🙏

@jimeka I made it. Tough but I made it. I remember your suggestion from while back about praying for people in alphabetical order. It worked. My granddaughters name is Amber. She's been having some crazy stuff going on in her life. I never got out of the letter a of the alphabet. But it was only cervical so relatively short only 25 mins then 10 more for contrast. But it was a long 35 mins. Won't let it happen again I promise. Thank you and god bless.

Doubled51 so pleased it went well. If you spent that long praying for just Amber, then watch this space, because as I have said before, prayers go up, blessings come down, and also grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged. Let us know how Amber fares, blessings Jimeka and also your results. 🦋 🌈

You can do this.

I never open my eyes in the MRI machine.

Not a favorite thing.

I get my brain and neck and sometimes my spine all at once. I go home and cry.

Good luck to you!

Momjules last time I had all that done I was already in hospital and it took 3 tries. 3rd time they sedated me like I asked to begin with. Thank you and god bless.

I used to take still Ativan before MRI but now I don't need to. Ask them to put a cloth over your eyes. And think of the clanging as music. Also, ask them to tell you how long each "session" will last. Good luck! And I SO get the cog difficulties! Mine are horrible!! I just preface everything as "brain on drugs ".

@littleshelley. With my past history I can relate to the brain on drugs. Lol. I don't think my brain ever totally recovered so that part is easily true. Lol. Just kidding that was a long time ago.

I don't open my eyes once in the mri (did this once and never again) and I count down each time the table moves on, starting at one to help pass the time. Before I know it I'm done....unless I fall asleep and they have to repeat one of the scans lol

@ Doubled51 When I"m in an MRI I try to focus on my breathing -- inhale through nose 7 seconds, hold for 4 seconds and exhale through mouth as slow as you can....

good luck!

@Double51

Praying that you will get through the MRI! 🙏🏻

Wondering if the doctor's office can call in a stat order? Sometimes my pharmacy will give me a couple tablets of a medication if I am in a pinch.

Wishing you Gods peace, my friend. 🕊

Nom_De_Plume I thought about that but my normal pharmacy close to hospital is closed on Sat. But I made it. By the grace of God. But I guarantee it won't happen again. Lol. Luckily it was only cspine. That's for your prayers Lisa. God bless.
