Spasms

I am not on any medication for spasms. They are so bad that I have been having them every day through out my body from my shoulders to my toes. I even get them when I stand up. Good thing I have a rollator. Some are so bad I have been getting Charlie horses. I was on Baclofen bad reaction, my feet swelled up so much, I know that is something I don't need to ask but I will,

Does any one have a medicine for spasms? I've reacting to some of these medicine differently than others.

ssdw1958 , I'm sorry for the pain you're in and that you can't tolerate Baclofen.

I'd be calling your doctor to see what else you might try.

My own experience has been with baclofen and tizanidine/ flexeril. The latter makes you sleepy so I take it of an evening. My gait is still spastic but I don't have painful spasms.

I have heard others here say medical cannabis helps.

Hopefully your neurologist has options for you to consider and you'll have treatment for this soon.

@sdw1958 I take baclofen and tizanidine/ flexeril. Because a full pill (2mg) of flexeril made me sleepy, I take 1/2 a pill in the morning and a full pill at night. Maybe your Neuro can prescribe that for you since you had a bad reaction baclofen.

I take both baclofen and tizanidine Maybe tizanidine may work for you. My rehab dr at one point asked me if I wanted to do botox I told her NO THANK YOU.

I also was asked to do Botox but read up on that and desired not to do it I need to look into

Tizanidine/flexeri not to big on the canabis. But I do want to thank all of you.

I use flexaril. I use at night usually but I will use in day if I am home. No driving b/c it does seem to make me sleepy sometimes. I find it milder than bactafin. Bactafin relaxed me way too much!

ssdw1958 I use Klonopin for my spasms. I have never had any side effects at all and it works like a miracle. Something to think about. I only take two, sometimes three a day depending on how shaky and spastic I am. Good luck, let us know how you do, you shouldn't have to suffer! In my prayers, Kelly xx

Amore55 /Kelly, Hi! I was wondering what your Klonopin dose is. I hadn't heard about this before so I will look into it.

I have used baclofen and tizanidine but don't seem to be getting the max benefit even though I am on the max dose of bac (120). Would like to try something else. Have you tried these too?

@ssdw1958 , I was getting spasms and charley horses also. My neuro put me on tizanidine. It helped immensely.

but you've already declined your interest in cannabis, so I'll throw a wrench in the plan.

Ever heard of Dantrium? I take it sometimes and found it works better for me than baclofen, flexeril, or others did.
