Funny but embarrassing

Hello all. Well yesterday I went to get pizza for dinner. The lady told me it was 635. I looked at my hand and said, "oh boy I don't have enough, let me go to my car to get the rest". As I turned to go to the car I realized I had 7 dollars in my hand. I turned to her and said "oh never mind I have it". I knew I had 7 dollars before I left my car because I counted out, but when it came time for me to pay it i forgot how much I was holding. Got nervous that I didn't have enough. Ughh needless to say everyone in back out me was looking at me like I was crazy. I just walked out laughing to myself.

Thank you lately that all I seem to do is laugh. It helps me feel more normal if that makes sense.

Laughing is good for the soul. People actually hold laughing and coffee clubs. I sometimes wish there was one near me.😂

Erash, I never heard of laughing yoga but there is a great yoga move that my massage therapist taught me. It's called the lion. Stick your tongue out as far as you can and give a loud roar, like a loud

"haaaaaaaa" and then take a deep breath. Do it as much as you have to until you calm yourself down. It's better than killing someone! And after you calm your stress, you can laugh! Sukie427

Sukie427

Our yogi taught us that too--the lion 🦁

I left today's yoga class so relaxed and calm --better than a Valium. It's only a weekly gentle yoga. I need it daily!✌

I want to start taking yoga also, but I need to find the time! The Lion is so great to relieve stress and anger, isn't it?

LissaH I hate it when that happens. I can be looking straight at something and be sure I am so right, when I am so wrong. Laughing is a good way to handle it. Much better than crying.

Let me tell you something I was for getting things not a lot of things. I blames it on the MS. So I told my sister

that the MS was doing this.

She said Sandra you can't blame that on the MS your over 50 years old, it's old age.

I thought about it and I was just a little up set that she used that word "OLD". So I have to let you know you can't blame it on MS. LOL

Oh by the way I wouldn't worry about those people in the pizza shop you will probably never see them again.

Bygonelines in reply to LissaH

Sorry, but 50 is not OLD. 50 is still a youngster. In my book, you don't begin to reach middle age till you are 80+. Old age is 100+. And if I keep telling myself this, maybe my body will believe it! LOL!

I've gotten to where I only pay with bills now. It takes me FOREVER to get my purse open, wallet out, then the coins out of those zippered pouches that are only made for teeny-tiny fingers. I've held up too many lines counting out change. But it's time to empty my purse of all the change I've dumped into the bottom of it. It feels like I'm lugging around gold bricks instead of just a couple bucks in nickels and dimes!

LissaH profile image
LissaH in reply to WAshingtongirl

I also do the same. If I get change I drop it in my pockets or my purse and when I get home I have a jar to put it in and then when it gets full I take it to the bank for the bills.

Confession--My fine motor coordination embarrasses me 🙁

At the birds of prey center the other volunteers lock the cages with 1 hand while holding a tray in the other. I struggle to get the padlock through the latch with 2 hands.

At the senior daycare center, I joke with the woman with Parkinsons because I can't set her juice cup down without spilling.

I know I shouldn't feel embarrassed but I feel very self conscious. I want a sign that says I wasn't always like this...I used to do minor surgery 😜

Well it feels better confessing and getting that off my chest 🙄 Thanks! For listening 😊

I understand, erash !

We just replaced our mailbox after a moving van missed a turn and wiped out our mailbox and two others. My husband put a yellow flag on the top of the box that flips up when the box is opened, letting us know the mail had been delivered. I told him I didn't want the flag. It's hard to hold the mail and close the mailbox, all the while holding down the yellow flag so it is in the down position until the mailbox is opened again. Oh, yes, and I have my crutch with me too! Think I need another hand?! 🙄 He doesn't get it.

WAshingtongirl

I have mailbox negotiation issues too. Ours locks with a small key (we have had mailbox vandalism in our neighborhood). 📬

I think having MS (or perhaps any other disability) makes you see the world through very special lenses that others cannot perceive.

Like last night when I walked 5 feet past our car to get to the hand rail to support myself while I descended 2 small steps to get down to the car's level and my husband kept yelling (he's deaf) "where are you going? You're passing the car!"

You probably had other things on your mind...they say the human brain is not made for multi-tasking.

I'm always reassured when people I know and consider smart, and seemingly healthy, forget things--words, appointments etc.

everyone does it...it just seems more exaggerated when u have MS

😜

I was being pre-registered over the phone for a new doctor recently. At first, I thought this would save me so much time. But when she began asking about medical history and names of medicines, the right words just would not come to my lips. That poor woman! It probably took twice as long as it would have if I had simply filled out paperwork while in the waiting room. Now I wonder what I told her. I guess I've lost words along with those marbles.

You're in good company, and we will all laugh together!
