Hello

I have been on Aubagio for about 5 months and have a tried having weird issues with I think my breathing. I breath fine but about 8-10 times a day it feels like I am breathing through a straw . Hard to explain but that's what it feels like. Only last for a few seconds then goes away. Has anyone had breathing issues with Aubagio? I don't even know how to explain it. Friends think it might just be allergies. Is it possible that a pill starts to have side effects 5 months in. I will call my doctor in the morning but so hard to explain. Thanks everyone

Hi jkdavid99 ! I haven't taken Aubagio but my understanding is that you can develop a sensitivity to a drug at any time. As an example, I had taken amoxicillian for infections many times over the years with no trouble. The last time I took it, I developed head to toe hives on the last day of that prescription. As a result, I can no longer take amoxicillian or related medications.

It's good that you are planning to talk to your doctor.

I wouldn't mess with breathing. If it's an allergy, it normally gets worse. Let us know what the doc thinks/does please.

I do hope it isn't your med, but I agree that a call to the doctor is a good idea to see what's going on.

Definitely see your doctor. Most people are aware of forming a tolerance for medications and needing more for the same result. A lot aren't aware that you can build up a toxicity to something that was working.
