Karen, I'll start praying now. It apparently can be bit of a process, so be persistent. An early and easy approval would be so great! I hope you'll tell us how it went.

Ive been trying for two years. This is almost the final step. A hearing before an administrative law judge. From what i have read and my lawyer said, having to go this far is normal. They want you to grow weary and give up.

Good luck and God bless. Hope you get a good judge. My first hearing the judge was rude and obnoious. Second was was an awesome understanding person. Apologized for making me drive all that way. Awarded my disability without a single question. I pray you get a judge like the second.

I hope you do to. But don't be discouraged it you don't. Just try again. So you have a lawyer. And they do give back pay when you win your case if you turned down. Gooduck. Praying for you.

Prayers! I just started the process, and they have me scheduled for a mental status evaluation. I googled the doctor and was impressed with his credentials so I'm hoping for the best. At the worst I'm eligible for Social Security in 4 years.

Karen-X, it's Fancy1959. If you haven't gone to the hearing yet make sure you wear clothes that are very nice. That's bad to say but look all but Indigent with old clothes and old shoes. If you use a walker or wheelchair ever or can get your hands on one take it and use it at the hearing. It's ridiculous we have to go and jump through these hoops but we do so you might as well weight the hearing in your favor as much as possible. Try to look as pitiful as you can and again I say this is so ridiculous. But the judges are human and a picture is worth a thousand words so make sure your picture represents someone who desperately needs Social Security. Let me know how it goes. The above information was what I was told to do and I did do at my Social Security hearing with my lawyer beside me and we did get Social Security. So it was all part of the package that sold me to the judge and made it work. Good luck. I'll be praying and thinking about you all day today whatever time you're hearing is.

Yes. I wasn't even required to do my disability interview in person. Just over on the phone. And they even gave me monies for two previous years saying I should have applied long ago. God provided for us.
