Rabbits for Tutu! πŸ‡ πŸ‡ πŸ‡ πŸ‡

My next door neighbour has let his domesticated rabbit loose. There is now a rainbow of about 40 rabbits, black, brown, white, grey and white, grey. The gestation period is only about 31 days, how many more will there be by autumn? The neighbour thinks they are cute and feeds them. Meanwhile they have taken up residence in our stables. My son is itching to get his gun out. Rabbit pie anyone! πŸ‡

  • jimeka I hate to offend anyone. However, I am sure I am about to. Like Elmer Fudd would say. Hasenpfeffer Stew may be in order. :)

  • Oh, goodness, you told me you had LOTS of bunnies running around there. I wonder if Thumper is out there somewhere? Maybe LOTS of little Thumpers. πŸ‡πŸ˜‰πŸ’•

  • Too many, they breed like rats. There were 7 new ones the other day, cute yes, nuisance, even greater yes. They can strip a grass field in days, quicker than the horses can. As Rob said, maybe stew if it wasn't so hot. πŸ¦‹ 🌈 πŸ‡

  • So they destroy your crops, right? 😬

And what are you doing up? It's nearly 1am there. You should be sleeping! 😴It's not even 5pm here and I'm about to drop...

  • Yes and they burrow holes that the horses can trip in, which can make it very expensive with vets bills πŸ’΅

  • Maybe Morllyn wants them.

  • Dead or alive?

  • No! Please no, I saw two mating in the garden this morning. They didn't want to be to far away from the food. β˜ΉοΈπŸ˜©πŸ˜€πŸ˜‰πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜›πŸ°πŸ‡πŸ‡πŸ‡πŸ‡πŸ‡πŸ‡πŸŒ»πŸŒ±

  • By the way, how did you post 4 pics? Were you able to do that individually? I'm impressed!!!

  • How annoying! Put the word out.. FREE RABBITS!

  • Folks from town see a deer and say, "Oh! Bambi! How sweet'" All I can see is the damage done to fencing, fruit trees, and our years of hard work. I don't mind deer... when they're not in my property! Sorry about the rabbit problem.

  • jimeka Oh, my goodness! I like rabbits but...whatever in the world was your neighbor thinking??? Obviously, she/he is not a student of history (think Australia) or of zoology. What you need are some hungry predators. I'm certain the coyotes here would be pleased to help if only we could get them plane fare!

  • I live in a neighborhood full I mean of rabbits they don't bother most of us. We all out out good to keep them away from our gardens. Wild animals have to live some where. Ps I'll take rabbits over the bears around here any day. Ps we have fisher cats in our area too now.

  • BUNNIES ! Yes, I know how much damage they can do very quickly , as a long term house rabbit owner ! As domesticated/wild hybrids, they possibly won't have the same survival instincts/hardiness as pure wild buns, so will fall prey to any foxes/environmental factors etc more easily. We had a camping holiday in Knaresborough some years ago - the field was awash with many suspicious hues of bunnies in the evenings ! Not sure what the motive for 'freeing' their domesticated, intact rabbit was, if done deliberately ? x
