Had to put our dog baby down today

So sad, my little schnauzer Daisy had cancer, just found out yesterday. It was in her lung and had spread to other areas. She was still running around, but we knew she was suffering and had to make that terrible, but correct decision to put her down. I held her in my arms as the dr. administered the medicine. Can't write anymore, just too sad.

So, So, sad, Amores! I can really understand how you're feeling. We had to put our 14 year old German Shepherd down when his hips could no longer hold him up. We still miss him, even though it has been over 10 years ago.

I know I found comfort holding Jonah and watching his pain ease when we had to make that decision.

The only flaw dogs have is that their lives are too short.

Amore55 ... so sorry you had to go through this. Last October we had to put down our 11 year old German Shepherd due to a fast-moving incurable cancer. We've come to learn how much cancer affects dogs especially older ones. Its terrible. I agree with erash ...the only flaw that dogs have is their lives are too short.

Kelly, my heart goes out to you. Those creatures become like family, and we really grieve when we lose them. I admire your courage to do what was best for her. I've never thought of myself as a dog-lover, but when we had to put ours down, I sobbed for hours. My prayers are for God's comforting arms around you.

I'm so sorry, Amore. We have been through similar with many of our pets - it never gets any easier each time but an end to terminal pain and suffering is the kindest thing we can do for our special friends. x

I am so sorry to hear this sad news. It takes all the strength we have to hold them while they pass over to the other side but we know it's the right thing to do. Take care of yourself. I had a relapse after loosing 2 of my dogs close to each other. So try to remember the good times you had together and not cry too much...Hugs
