Appointment was great. My new PCP is awesome, and he's taking the lead on getting me from loaner chair into a permanent one (running interference with Medicaid approval procedures).

Is this the start of an incredibly early morning for you, jimeka , or the end of a late night on the town (or should we ask)??

Night on the town, oh those were the days, if I am not in bed by 7 pm, my bed comes looking for me, particularly when I have had my grandson home all day, finding intelligent quests for him to do is mind blowing. At the moment he is doing a writing competition with the BBC, so that should keep him occupied, for a little while anyway. 🙏 🌈

Sorry to hear that your having facial numbness, erash -- is it on just one side, or all over? When I have facial numbness, it seems always to be on the right side.

A few weeks ago it was on my left face. For the last week it's on the right.

When I contacted my neuro a few weeks ago to report new symptoms he said it was related to my trigeminal neuralgia (5th cranial nerve) which is on the right and he told me to increase my Tegretol or add Elavil. I disagree and think it's my 7th cranial nerve and since there's no pain, I'm boycotting the med increases/additions. Perhaps I'm being a self advocate or perhaps I'm my own worst enemy but if we are simply talking about symptomatic medications, no thanks!

By the way, I like this thread. It's one of the reasons I so appreciate THIS forum. We can discuss our symptoms but we can also be light and laugh!

It's such a great struggle to balance self-advocacy and still maintain a cooperative spirit, isn't it erash ?

I'm told that I have a lesion on my optic nerve. I've got issues with both blurring and a periodic doubling (thankfully, the doubling is not constant at this point, and so I don't have to go around with a patch and looking like a pirate) (although that could be a very good look for me, I suppose . . . .)

Does a patch help? What does it do ? I have optic neuritis with my right eye and notice my vision is screwy later in the day more so , perhaps associated with fatigue . Do you think an eye patch would help in that case?

Good_enough , I can't really say, but have been told that (if mine ever became a persistent state) a patch would be likely ordered.

Perhaps Iona60 can share a bit of her deeper experiences with the patch.

Hi Good_enough . It's worth a try. I get pain in my rt eye and blocking out light seems to help it some.

I had several of these same symptoms first right then severely left, whole body tremors, day and night reversed, could not stop crying, finally when my husband seen the symptoms on the left side that looked like I was having a stroke he was wanting to rush me to the hospital. It started in my hand moved up my arm, into my throat, tongue, left side of face, when I talked, I only garbled, took me three times to get his attention, because I could not stay raised up for very long. I did not go to the ER, to my regret. I did go see the Neuro Dr. the nest day, whom told me I should not read everything on the prescription warnings and he wished they would not list all that stuff, and felt I should stay on the Gelynia, my husband was unable to make the appointment and I was so belittled. Point of my story, you have to be your own advocate, I am SPMS, I have had a reaction to every MS drug I have tried, Copaxone, Trial Drug, Rebif, could not go on the Tysbyria (sp?), because JC Virus Positive. I believe if I would have stayed on this drug I would have had a major stroke and would have been bed ridden the rest of my life. Heart disease is big in my family. erash you are not your own worst enemy. My original Dr. left this hospital when I was put on this drug, I know she would not have left me on it.

You have to be your own advocate. I will pray for you. I have not heard of either one of the meds you mentioned. I do not take any MS meds, only meds to help symptoms.

Debragm , you've had quite the experience with DMTs. Like you, I am SPMS and am only on symptom management.

No need to apologize or worry about what you've written Debragm ! I'm famous for not being able to be concise when trying to get my thought out of my head and down on 'paper.' And when I do, I forget to triple check my typos. DMTs: disease modifying therapy/drugs such as Copaxone, Rebif, etc.

Be very cautious, though. When I called mine, and said, "DOCTOR, MY EYES. ." (Jackson Browne), all that he wanted to do was to become my PUSHERMAN (Curtis Mayfield).
