Things that I noticed Yesterday

G'day Everybody hope your X-mas was good and wish your 2017 to be well. Okay little bit of boasting to start off with & then to the point. Yesterday I got 93% on my FAA small commercial drone test, thats 0.5 to 55 lbs, divide by 2.54 for metric if I remember right. Now the point is I used to be a Commercial Multi engined Instrument rated pilot with 1000+ flying hours. so this was NOT new to me, but 20 questions into the exam I almost got up & left. I did not believe that I could do it, I actually had to force myself to stay seated physically. For 18 yrs I have done Nothing, I have really let ms take everything from me, be it taken to given up. It really staggered me. Newbies do not give it away find the middle ground, let what u can go but DO NOT surrender all. Find that soft patch and keep looking, NEVER STOP LOOKING IT MOVES CONSTANTLY, REMEMBER WHO U R WHO U WERE &WHO U WANT TO BE, EVEN WHO U CAN BE. the goal posts move the game never ends, play as good as u can everyday week month year, but always keep playing. It is just a game it really is not serious just seems like it is sometimes.

Congratulations Royce! What do you plan to do with this new drone license? My husband is guessing package delivery, as someone has to fly the the drones. How exciting for you to be entering a new phase in your life.

Royce

You have given us some wonderful news to smile about as the year draws to a close, and a great deal to think about as we make plans for 2017.

I'm impressed by your accomplishment, and deeply moved by your well-placed message of inspiration.

Thanks,

RoyceNewton wise words! Focus on what u can, not on what u can't.

Yes, the TN is cruel 😬 I measure all else pain related against it.

Kudos to u for preserving. My brain also wants to shut down these days when it's faced with complexity.

no idea I just started watching the Drone Racing League on tv and I thought that might be cool. Happy & uneventful new year.

That is kinda cool RoyceNewton how big is that thing, that you have to have a test for?

RoyceNewton profile image
RoyceNewton in reply to Jesmcd2

small about 10 pounds I think and do with it I have no idea, the license is a commercial small unmanned aerial vehicle, I think. FAA has some weird terms at the best of times :-) .

Gotcha, it's still cool! Maybe you will work for Amazon. 😁😅😅😊

@RoyceNewtown, it's Fancy1959 and I congratulate you for digging in finding the strength to finish your exam. I congratulate you even more for realizing that MS was trying to steal away your mental capacity that you knew you had to pass your exam and then to have the guts to stay and finish the exam even though you wanted to run away. It seems like 20 Questions into your exam you had an epiphany of sorts. You sudddenly realized what MS have robbed you of and what it was trying to rob you up. I truly wish that I had your backbone and that I could too have the guts to face MS head-on just like you did during the test. I have to admit to everyone that I have run a from it a time or two and that's okay. We all pick our battles and when the time is right and we dig our trenches and refuse to back up any further. Royce, your words are truly inspirational, gutsy, and brought our battle back to life in a way that I have seldom heard. We have a lot of female members of a chat room that are great with inspirational words and that post frequently trying to get newcomers to join us. We have not had a male voice with such passion and such determination bring our message to others in quite some time. Bravo! Your post is I hope, a shining star to all the men out there who are suffering in Silence with MS. Come join in the battle and join us in this revolution to beat this dreaded monster. As Royce so vividly stated we cannot to let one male or one female affected by MS allow this Beast to win against us. We need to remember that we are stronger together so let's link arms, joining male to female, nationality to nationality and join in this fight together. I would like to invite everyone who reads any post in this chat room to become an MS Warrior with us. Royce you amplify what an MS Warrior is. As an MS Warrior we never give up and we never give in to this dreaded monster. But instead we fight on no matter what. So I'm calling all Warriors to join in this fight. And fight we will until we win this battle against this dreaded Beast we call MS. Fight on MS Warriors, fight on!

You are right!! Never give up! I was diagnosed with MS in September 2014 and I just earned my masters degree and started work to become a licensed professional counselor. When my dad told some of our relatives and friends the first thing they said was "guess she will quit school now". Dad told them no and one year later I have 2 required courses left and my in field training. In fact, I have been asked to help start a youth MS support group for children and teens directly affected by MS (they have it or relative has it)! So go for it but rest when needed!!☺😆

RoyceNewton profile image
RoyceNewton in reply to KATC1972

Now to me THAT is impressive. The support group I like I had one once in Astralia, but life led me in a different direction.

Quiet and boring 2017 to u and yours

Royce, I wish you had an active support group where you live. Our group is large and lives up to the phrase stay active. They hold educational seminars but have fun activities like the holiday gala. Take care!

Sadly not so active her in Phoenix, such is life, sad for some I guess.

Thank you! I hope my personal story will help others. I appreciate this group of people on here, you included, because you all respond quickly unlike other online MS groups I participated. I'm learning all about MS as I go along. Have a great day!!
