I love the words you've written and know what you're feeling. Must be the reason I have MS is I need to learn patience and acceptance. I've had it for many others, but never for myself. Time to put myself first (for a change) and hope for a bright future for EVERYONE! (Including me).

jennie62 l always hated being told to have patience. Then my mom got remarried and l gained 3 more younger brothers on top of the 1 l had then they had another one. My Grandmother who was very old school, and very regal, told me one day that out of all of her grandchildren l was the "heart" to hold it all together. With patience, love and understanding l can get through anything. I hold her words close always!.
I'm pretty sure she knew l was going to raise 3girls on my own to. Ugh!!! Talk about patience! My middle one used to tell me l had the patience of a saint.l used to tell her that l could count to 100 super fast. Lol
Jennie, my point being is putting yourself 1st is OK ! Take time for yourself and and forgive yourself for taking longer to do it. And if it does, so what! It's OK! Patience! 😊
I used to hang out with both my grandmothers. My mom's mother was very old-school as well and always taught me the greatest things. My dad's mother and I were very similar and we always watched soap operas together. Couldn't tell you which one, but we always had a great time together. More than likely where I got the love of becoming friends with and helping seniors. I miss working with them, but as you say...it's time to put myself first and help ME!
My parents have always told me to have patience and I hated it. Okay, NOW I get it. LOL I didn't as a teenager, but now being too close to my sixties I do.

jennie62 l was never close to anyone but my grandmother 💝 And my Papa who was my step dads dad. He took me under his wing pretty fast😊 My dad tells me lm alot like him 😁 l remember sitting on the front porch and him smoking a cigar. So now when l smell 1 l think of him💕

I'm so glad that you had that time with your grandparents, it's amazing that you don't think how important it is when your young. But you chrish that time and memories.
My parents always told me to ignore it, they will go away. (Referring to my brother's) lol now l use it in life! Ignore MS it will go away HAHAHAJA

Dickens was one of my favorite authors, too, hence the name I chose. Great Expectations was probably my favorite story, though it's a tough choice! I loved the movie version with John Mills in black and white, of course! What a great story about enduring love, humility, and so much more! I even named our dog "Dickens" with the deepest apologies to Mr. Dickens.
I love the black n white version with John Mills too! I love the name you gave your dog! At least you didn't give him the name Pip! I remember doing Miss Haversham in a haunted house when I was a teenager! No one got it until I told them to watch the movie-LOL!

Jes, how old are your girls and wee they excited for Christmas? I know from experience that the older they get, the more expensive the presents! With my 8 kids at one point we had seven teenagers! Very expensive Christmases for a few years. Love, Kelly xx

How old are yours? And yes Christmases have been expensive sometimes, but as a single mom, things were always a little tight. 😊 There were times when the ex and l would go half and half on things they really wanted.☺

I look at the challenges MS makes me face like a game of finding or creating new ways to accomplish things that I was able to accomplish in the past. Although it may be frustrating trying to invent new ways of accomplishing something, it is rewarding when I do find or create a new way.
Jesmcd2 Hope everyone had an awesome Christmas. I'm suffering from fatigue but I made it through the last 2 days. Spent X-Mas Eve at my husband's brothers family's home. Was a lot of fun, ate too much food but what the heck it's Christmas and I don't eat like that but 2 times a year. I didn't get to bed until 1:00 am last night/today and up at 5 am this morning. Been cooking, cleaning and preparing all day. Just finished cleaning up and putting everything away. I love Christmas and had a great time but I'm sure glad it's over. It's 10:30 pm now, I'm hoping to get at least 7 hrs of good refreshing night of sleep and wake up feeling less fatigued and kick this sinus infection to the curb. Merry Christmas to all of you. 🎄 Over and out. 🛌

Thanks Jes. Yes I had an awesome Christmas this year. I loved the time with my family and extended families. We had some good conversations like old times and laughed a lot. I can't remember the last time I really felt like laughing. I'm talking about the infectious type that caused all to laugh with everyone, a big hearty laugh deep within all of us.
Even though I'm sick and having a relapse I did make the best of what I could. Two days of all that responsibility was a bit TOO much though. Today I'm relaxing, eating all the left overs. I have no plans to go anywhere. It's cold and windy outside so I'll be binging on my Fav's on TV.
My best gifts were the ones my kids and grandkids gave me. The little ones gave myself and Grampa each a coffee cup with all thier names on it. The bigger kids (and thier spouses as well as my sons GF) had an oil painting on canvas made for me of my favorite picture with my Dad standing next to his favorite horse (King) from when he was 69 yrs old. My Dad just passed away end of July at the age of 94 1/2. I've been having a hard time grieving for him and they all are aware how hard it's been for me. So naturally when I opened up that gift it was very emotional. In fact, as I write this the tears are running down my cheeks. Thier intentions were meant to bring me the peace I'm looking for and not sadness. Now I need to find the perfect spot to hang it where I can feel that peace and happiness when I look at it. 😪
