Looking for adult tricycle recommendations

I miss bicycling and doubt I will ever regain the balance necessary. Any recommendations on a reasonably priced, decent adult trike? I saw someone posted a picture of one with a cute puppy in a cart on the back and that's sparked my interest. TIA

Hi Erash, that was my trike with the 11 year old pup. I don't know what it's like in the states, but here in the uk you can buy them battery operated, so you can peddle or just sit and ride. You don't need balance because of the 3 wheels. I called mine freedom as that is what it does for me. Hope you can find somewhere that sells them, Cheers Jimeka

Forgot to say, mine is a Mission trike, if you pump it into google it will come up, let me know how you get on, cheers Jimeka

Hope you find it. It will give you such a good feeling, it's well worth it, good luck 🚴🌈🌎

I had one for a while. Two things to consider. One, make sure you can change gears. Mine could not and I live where there are lots of hills. It was exhausting and I sold it. Two, remember tricycles tend to tip a lot. So fast turns are dangerous. Be careful. Maybe look for one that is low to the ground. Good luck! I miss bikes too!

Thanks! I will definitely heed those cautions 😊

Hi Erash, mine is low to the ground, and it doesn't tip, unless the road is really uneven, but you learn to ride on the good bits, cheers Jimeka

Looking for a local cycle shop that has them in stock so I can try it out. I'm only 5 feet tall. So low to the ground would be a likely requisite 😊

G'day, I am in Phoenix Arizona. First Off can you bend your Knees second what can you afford. If you can bend your knees, look at the Cattrike series if you cannot look at the Terratrike series. there are after market Cattrike handlebars which are GREAT for helping you get in and get out. I use mine as steering alternatives as they do do this job pretty well. As machine guns when I am just cruising along, Something that do very very badly but it is fun to pretend. The Terratrike is no where near as low slower(opinion) not as cool looking (again opinion) but much cheaper, heavier though (again opinion)

u r looking at around $2K for the Terratrike and I think $1K less for the Terratrike this is without all the cool options. Sorry for all the stuff but I spend way to much time at my trike shop which my wife really does not like, Remember safety buy a HELMET, Your brain is already screwed up why make it worse?

G'day RoyceNewton, both trikes look awesome.👍 But both are outside of my budget. 🙁I'm more likely looking for a low tech trike similar to Jimeka's. My knees still bend fortunately but your helmet admonition to protect my already scrambled brain is good advice 😜

Ha! Love the last line. We sure know how to laugh at ourselves, don't we?

I messed that up. (I wonder if wearing a helmet while reading/replying would help. 🙄) Meant for my response above to follow RoyceNewton's "Your brain is already screwed up..."
