Hello, Moderate cervical compression can be watched. However, with that said, I would find out the following;1. What does the surgeon suggest.

2. How many millimeters is the spine compressed.

3. Did the doctor mention myelopathy?

I had my first cervical fusion in 2015, another in 2017, additional one in 2020 and 2022. In my experience the first one was done after I was unable to walk so it was an emergency surgery.

You will most likely need surgery so the sooner they catch it, if they operate soon, the better your outcome.

I look forward to hearing back from you

In the meantime, I would suggest looking at the myelopathy.org site for more information as well.

Thank you,

Sheila

Pension, I would be remiss if I didn't tell you about our Facebook group Myelopathy.org Support Group. There is also another FB Group as well. They too are quite good and active.

I have had surgery, as a matter of fact I am fresh out of recovery from my third lumbar compression fusion. I have had 2 ACDFs, which now seem minor in comparison. If you have Myelopathy it comes with a host of issues, some can stay still for many years other require surgery in order to stop the progression. Have you met with your doctor yet? Let me know and we can certainly help you through this no matter what the prognosis.

Hi Sheila I have been discharged without even seeing drSpinal surgeon had virtual meeting with neurologist and they de cided my symptoms are likely due to narrowing of the arteries on the brain.
