Tingling pins and needles sensation in arms

I am seeing a PT for osteoporosis, bilateral spondylolthesis and bilateral neuroframinal stenosis and disc bulging and an annular tear at L5 S1. The Pt noticed some things and suggested a neck xray after I complained that I was having some pain but mostly pins and needles feelings in my arms. The xray showed endplate sclerosis and bone spurs at C4 C5. Not sure what PT will say until my appointment next week but was wondering if anyone had any info. All I can seem to find when I search is info on lumbar spine. I am 60 and feel like the bottom fell out, just six months ago I was active and playing with the grandkids, now I am limited.

Hi Jean, I am not at all a doctor, but would recommend you seeing an orthopedic or neurosurgeon with those results. Depending on the symptoms you are having and how large the bones spurs are they may need to a closer look. Have you been diagnosed previously with myelopathy?

I have seen where just changing some things in your PT routine. May help, but I can only suggest you see one of the doctor's I mentioned above.

The xray order stated Myelopathy but I assume that is just investigative and needed for insurance billing . My triceps get numb when they are pressed against a chair or sofa. My arms and across the upper chest get the pins and needles both randomly and when when I do stretches the pt had me doing. My hands get a burning sensation and my right outer forearm will ache. I also get random dizziness and stumble. My left foot tingles and keeps me awake at night. My knee reflex was hyper. With all my lumbar issues it is hard to know what is what. Is xray enough or will they need better imaging? Thank you!

In my experience, they need an MRI of the spine. Since that is so costly they may suggest you have a cervical MRI, which is good. You can experience Myelopathy from L1 up. However it usually starts in the neck.

It sounds like you may have something going on in the cervical spine, based on what you are saying.
