Cervical myelopathy

I’m new on here and I was diagnosed with progressive cervical myelopathy and had surgery July this year, but nothing has changed with my symptoms, I’m feeling very depressed

When did you have surgery?What was the expectation of the post operative symptoms?Of course anyone would be upset about the symptoms still being there..Im just new here and did not even know I had cervical myopathy...I have a ton of the symptoms and have not been able to work since July 2017,went to the university for neuro eval. for dermatomysositis,and the neuro. doc ordered a MRI of c-spine,,because of her physical exam and my symptoms....Im having an EMG on Nov. 2 and then the pieces of the puzzle should line up..hoping,,wow I was not really aware of Cervical mylopathy being a thing,and Im a nurse for 29 yrs.I hope your feeling better today,linda

Hi linda it’s so nice to speak to someone in the same situation I had surgery July this year posterior also had acdf surgery 2016 so this has been going on for along time my consultant said it’s 50/50 recovery, I am still on the sick from work, don’t know how you fell but it’s horrible to suffer with this, I have to think that there is a lot of people worst of than me, please keep intouch, thanks Tracey
