Since being diagnosed In 2014 I quickly worked out by speaking to physiotherapists and listening to my body that the majority of my neck pain and my symptoms were caused by my neck muscles tensing up trying to protect my all ready damaged Cervical Spine, I found Acupuncture beneficial to release them rock hard trapezius muscles but it was also costly to have it done on a regular basis, While having a really bad episode one day and having no pain relief from my prescription pain killers I turned to guided meditation on YouTube and I've never looked back since ,I still use it very often post op especially when my muscle spasms go into overdrive I grab my phone and earphones and lay on the bed while listening to my guided meditation also I find it very beneficial before bed, hope you find this post useful and I'm looking forward to your feedback

I am going to try some of this before bed. Having a time of it during the night with very little sleep. Excellent advice.

Do you always use the same guided mediation or different ones?

There are a few different ones on you tube for sleep and others that you can do during the day I've downloaded the apps because you don't need internet access to listen to them

Mind over matter is very powerful. I like the sounds of a winter storm and watching the snow and wind in a blizzard! And a bag of potato chips to feed the brain the fat it needs.

thanks so much Iwan. Makes sense just don't know how to treat it. Maybe I should give meditation and or acupuncture a try. Very kind of you.

I had a few sessions of Acupuncture I must say it did help me release my very tense trapezius muscles hopefully you will find it beneficial too

Iwan, i was thinking about trying acupuncture-I'm not sure how many precautions (if any) there would be with central cord compression. i'm going to try the apps you put on myelopathy site several weeks ago, looking at a smartphone to buy right now. I'll let everyone know how it goes.
