Allergy tests

Hi everyone, first post on here.

I am wondering whether to get an allergy test as my itchy skin is getting worse. I wash & moisturise with epaderm plus double base. But recently the itching is moving around, which does seem strange. I take cetirizine daily but this isn't helping much anymore. Could I be allergic to something, I'll try anything as it's very embarrassing now at work.

Thanks for listening :)

It might be worth getting an allergy test although they are not always conclusive. If you are in the UK, the route would be from GP to dermatologist, who would arrange allergy testing.

Thank you for replying to me. I'm already under a dermatologist but when I showed her she said 'it looked alright to me' & hasn't been too helpful but I'll try again, hopefully will see a different specialist next time I go to the clinic.

Oh goodness I hope so. I have seen a number of dermatologists in relation to my eczema and there are definitely some who are more switched on than others.

Your skin may be sensitive to the paraffin in the doublebase and other skin preps. Use Vaseline instead. The Citirizine may be causing a reaction too. Is there anything you could take instead? If taking antihistamines, try Fexafenadrine.
