Ezema or something else

Can someone give me advice on this my 5 yr been suffering with skin issues for 1.5 yr Dr said Ezema but doesn't react to creams and treatments any ideas what could be if not Ezema. This is all over his body their are rough and ichy they can bleed.

atopic dermatitis also known as atopic eczema.. You're more likely to get atopic eczema if you have allergies or other family members with conditions like atopic eczema, asthma or hay fever.

Treatments for atopic eczema include emollients (moisturising treatments) and steroid creams. A home remedy I use is Aloe Vera gel and it should take the sting out, it has done for me! Hope you find a solution soon!

Well, looks like eczema and sounds like eczema, but if not responding to standard treatment, which is emollient and corticosteroid cream, I would ask for referral to dermatologist.

Stop giving your child cows milk for a week and see if this makes a difference

If no change stop giving your child eggs

Your child is sensitive and reacting to something

Don't worry because children often grow out of their allergies

Vaseline intensive care is the best and cheapest cream I have ever come across

Try no cheese, cream, milk, butter, yoghurt for two weeks if possible, and see if it helps. (Margarine often contains milk as well, and bread - remove every bit of dairy if you can)

Coconut 'butter' makes a good alternative spread, and use almond milk or sweetened soya (unsweetened is much less palatable) or some other alternative, but not goats or sheeps milk etc, as he may have some allergy to them as well, as they are similar in their constituents.

Dear Theyakin,

You could also try removing Gluten from your Child's diet. A tricky one, it's in bread, cereal, biscuits and, often added, to 'everyday things' like stock and even drinks.

You can get an NHS test, for Gluten sensitivity, and if he proves to be allergic then Gluten Free food, often expensive, can be Prescribed.

Worth a 'try', at least?
