Possibly Scabies

I am writing this while in tears. I feel I have no support. Sorry this may be long. So 3 weeks ago I started having an issue with my eyes they were itching, burning, very dry but watering, optician thought allergy conjunctivitis prescribed eye drops then my skin started itching. Eyes are now fine but for the last 2 and a half weeks my skin gets pinpricks and very itchy. I get red lumps and lines that will come and then go away after 30 mins to an hour something quicker these are not very large. Drs kept telling me it's an allergy and I've had 3 different types of antihistamines and 2 different types of cream. I was sitting googling and come across scabies. I think possibly scabies just due to the itching as in morning am fine but as the day goes on i get itchier and itchier, I am able to sleep at night. I called my gp this morning and stated that i suspected possible scabies. The gp just said ok and prescribed me cream for myself and my family told us to apply it tonight and wash off in the morning. I really don't know what this is or how to go about cleaning the house in case it is. Do I wait until I've done the cream then treat the house?? Is there a way in the UK to be tested for scabies. I've itched for ages now and I'm so done in. Any help would be appreciated

OMG. This sounds so familiar. Mine started 8 weeks ago and I’ve been so low it in the last few weeks as it’s gone on. I’ve seen my GP a few times, a dermatologist and 2 eye specialists but no one has a real diagnosis and just keep trying me on different creams and drops. I know I have a few blocked glands in my eyes but I’m told not enough to create the symptoms I have. Mostly I’m ok in the morning (although not today) and the skin around my eyes and eyebrows starts itching anything from lunch time to 4pm onwards. At night in bed I’m fine. I’m losing some eyebrow hair in patches despite not scratching it at all and the itching is horrendous. I’ve stripped everything out of my skin routine, am watching my food, drinking lots of water etc. The dermatologist gave me the vague eczema diagnosis and dry skin and if I keep moisturising sometimes it helps but often not. I’m keeping a diary to see if there is any pattern. I’d discounted scabies as I didn’t see much on the skin itself but will look that up. I also get watery eyes and a stuffy nose at the same time so am also looking at food allergies, nasal polyp. Worth getting your thyroid tested. My TSH is below range but the T3 and T4 normal so the GP says this wouldn’t cause my symptoms but thyroid conditions can cause skin itching. I’m not being any help but I empathise!!!!

Is the cream working? if not, can you find another doctor who can give you a proper diagnosis?

Regardless, You will need to wash clothes, bedding, and towels to get rid of mites that may have fallen off your skin. You also should vacuum your entire home.

Sucks, I know, I went through something similar when my niece gave me lice.
