Mole/sore for 4+ weeks now

I have developed this mole like sore on my upper arm near shoulder (far left in photo) It looks a bit like a scab and is a little flaky. It has been there for over a month now and has become slightly raised. It doesn’t hurt and has a few flecks of darker pigment in it. It has a shiny appearance (photo isn’t great example). Could this be a type of basal cell?

Yes, it could - or it could be completely benign. The only way to find out is to see your GP, and the earlier you go the better.

Hi... I have the same problem, though I am 'elderly'. Initially I asked my doctor/s what it is and in every case received no specific diagnosis or treatment. It has now spread to all parts of my body that has been exposed to sun over the years. I also started with cherry angiomas popping up, mostly upper body and the same negative response from doctors. I try to calm the angiomas with apple cider vinegar that does shrink and fade them but it is a never ending scenario. Not even a dermatologist has an answer for me, except to advise not to put anything on these areas. For aesthetic purposes to try 'light therapy' not available on NHS. I add castor oil to my bath water and for dryness use Aveeno Moisturising Cream. It successfully keeps skin from excess dryness. Also I bath in warm (not hot) water, nor every day as it is too drying for the skin.

I have considered that the 'pinkish rash' could have been triggered by my osteoarthritis, either psoriastic arthritis or by the medication for the pain (anti inflammatory and pain killer)(cocodamol). However, I am on blood pressure and heart fibrillation medication too that confuses the issue.

Perhaps some of this may be of assistance to you. A strange phenomenon is the very first rough pink patch on my thigh (exactly like yours in the photo) has never gone away, I think of it as the 'pilot patch' because the other patches do fade with applications of castor oil, only to surface again and elsewhere.

I wish you well and hope to hear from you if you are fortunate enough to have better luck than me :)

Regards

Janice
