Hi, first time on here. In the past 3 years I've had 3 severe allergic reactions..face and eyes swollen tight shut..not affected my breathing. The last one was last week and I think it could be glue related. My first reaction was to false eyelashes...ive become allergic to always pads which I've used forever. Last weekend at the hairdresser the lady who was cutting my hair touched freshly done nails then my hair. I've also become allergic to my face cream again used this cream for 20 years.

This most recent reaction was the worst I had...a rash developed on my neck and I was unable to put my head down. Is it worth me asking for tests to he done

Yes I definitely think you should get tests done because you might find that there are more things that you didn't know you are allergic to and I don't think you should have to find out the hard way. Also it is affecting your life and I got an allergic reaction to pasta a year ago and my whole face ballooned up and the gp sent me to get tested in which I found out I am allergic to tomatoes.

This must be hard to deal with and I pray that things get better for you❤❤❤

firstly welcome to this great forum. Glad you have managed to get a quick appointment with your GP. I advise taking along anything that you think might have caused this dramatic allergic response as well as the photo you have posted here, as it's not uncommon for everything to look fine once you actually get to the doctor!

Hi

I think you have developed a form of Eczema. You should ask yourself if you have been enduring prolonged stress. If you have then it's potentially chronic eczema arising from high levels of cortisol in your system. Cortisol is a metabolite of adrenaline which can be produced at elevated levels in long stress situations. Exercise (high intensity cardio) will help very quickly but you may find sweating will cause rashes too.

I suggest you get down to A&E - this was the best advice given to me when I had similar problems.

You will need steroids to get it under control initially. A course of oral prednisolone. beta.nhs.uk/medicines/predn...

Some

Steroid creams might also help but be careful with these. I Please don't apply steroid cream near your eyes or other areas of sensitive or thin skin.

Ask the doctor about Protopic cream 0.1% too.

If you have Chronic Eczema you are in a large segment of the population. I have lived with it for about four years now and have learnt how to keep it under control. I did also have allergy tests which was interesting as they applied about 50 k own allergens to my back and monitored the reaction. In my case, it was not allergen specific. I suggest you ask for alleged tests as it will either identify or eliminate possible causes.

I do, however, flare in the presence of black mould spores so if you have any mouldy on windows or elsewhere at home or work deal with that immediately.

I wish you well and feel free to message me if you feel

You want to learn more eczema.
