Skin keeps cracking open, which cream / lotion to use?

My hands are very dry and nothing of creams and lotions seem to help. The skin on my hands keeps cracking and I am getting open wouds that leak a transparent pus. I used to buy Eucerin 10 % carbamide and it worked perfectly. Unfortunately, it is no longer available where I live (Norway). Can anyone recommend a cream / lotion that works immediately for eczema and that is available in European countries (and thus in Norway)? It needs to help with dry skin and itching that comes with eczema

Why not visit your family doctor to see what they advise

Eumovate - may be a bit strong though steroid cream based or cetreben as a moisturiser.

I used to get very dry skin that would crack and bleed (mostly in the winter) and no moisturiser would do anything. I started using Lotil and it worked almost instantly it was weird! BUT I always have it on my desk and at home and my hands havent cracked in 3 years. Hope this helps

Hi I have used Neutrogena hand cream (concentrated) Norwegian Formula (ha) and that has helped the skin on my hands a lot. I also have a cream called Baby I love you whipped body butter made by the Edinburgh Skin Care Company EdinburghSkinCare.com that works pretty well. With both creams a little goes a long way so they are quite economical. Good luck as I know what a nightmare hand eczema is especially when it cracks and gets leaky.

Maybe try sudocream, it's used for multiple skin conditions, it's normally associated with babies rashes, but I'm pretty sure that it's used for other skin conditions including eczema and will help the open wounds, I used it years ago when in the building trade and found it very useful, it's quite thick in texture, so probably have to apply it with your finger into the splits /cuts but if you can get some in between your fingers and rub your hands together all well and good, worth a try though

I wouldn't use any steroid products, they can damage the skin. With very dry skin, I apply a standard moisturiser before bed and before leaving the house.
