Could you be allergic to your soap and/of bubble bath/shower gel?

No, I don't think so. Been using the same soap for over 1.5 years now. 😭 What is happening?!

My skin started doing this a few years ago, more so after a bath then a shower. I now mostly strip wash now as baths and showers with soaps were stripping my natural oils from my skin upsetting my skin natural balance.

I avoid as much as possible the over use of soaps, etc if I can and let my skin self clean using just water and soaps only where necessary, I know this sounds disgusting but since doing this my skin doesn't itch, reacts less, less spots and everyone comments on how good my skin looks and feels.

I know you have been using this soap for 15 years but as you get older your skin changes if you can't swap over to my style of cleaning try a milk based cleansers/soaps you can find very good ones online.

My daughter suggested using goats milk soap and I think it is even better than Acqueas (sp?) cream (which can be used as a cleaning agent and/or moisturiser). Use a process of elimination perhaps. It is difficult with both of these to get a good lather but it does the job just as well without drying out the skin. Another tip re the tiny red blood vessels that can pop up in the hundreds (called cherry angiomas) - google it!. After your bath apply apple cider vinegar to the spots. This seems to shrink them, they turn pale brown and fade which is decidedly better than growing into a full grown red mole which is what happens with some. Hope this is helpful.

Maybe pop into a pharmacy and ask the pharmacist if they have any ideas about what's going on.

You probably have a type of allergy called "aquagenic pruritus". An intense itch starts a few minutes after a bath/shower, sometimes more like a prickling sensation, and takes from half to one hour to subside. It is uncommon in US, so don't expect a dermatologist to make or know this diagnosis (he will say it is your mind..). To control it, you can try an anti-histaminic like loratadine 1 or 2 hours before bathing. Or look for an allergist and say you think you may have aquagenic pruritus. Good luck!!

BTW, it is not related to the soap...
