strange sore

I have this sore on my upper thigh. A few years ago, it was a small patch. The Doctor thought it might be fungal infection. However, now, its much larger, is sore to touch, and itches sometimes. I am using Daktarin fungal cream with no effect. any suggestions please?

You need to see a doctor who will take a skin scrape. First, you want to rule out skin cancer. Secondly, if it is some type of infection, a laboratory can identify what microbe is responsible. The fact that your lesion is getting larger means that you need to identify what it is. Sometimes, a secondary infection can set in and you don't want that to happen because it will just add to the problem. Because the anti-fungal hasn't worked, you need to have a skin scrape. The laboratory can determine what is going on and then you will know what treatment you need.

Thank you. I have made an appointment with the skin specialist. Unfortunately its not till February. Fingers crossed it gets sorted!

So am I using Dactarin. Mine is similar to yours tho mine is circular. I diagnosed it as ringworm. Going back in two months.
