Mysterious rash cured!

Hello everyone,

New to this forum and wishing you all well this evening.

I just wanted to share something with you all, for no other reason than I feel like I should at least tell somebody! For roughly the past 4 years I had been suffering with an horrendous itchy rash on my lower legs. You know the kind of thing, inadvertent scratching at night, a lot of blood, general scarring. It drove me to distraction. I saw 2 different consultants, and also had a biopsy done, but the tests were inconclusive. At first they thought it might be something called nodular prurigo, but I personally felt like it was some close relation of eczema. Anyway, I tried all sorts of pills, potions and creams but nothing ever seemed to really help. It made me feel very depressed, mainly because I have always been a keen swimmer and I stopped going to the pool on account of the state of my legs.

Not really knowing what else to do I decided to start drinking a LOT more water every day. Incredibly, it's worked like an absolute dream. The itching has completely stopped, and even though my legs are still badly scarred I've finally regained the confidence to get back into the pool.

I'm just interested, has anyone else ever experienced a similar improvement in their own condition simply by drinking more water?

All the very best to you all and i hope that every one of you finds the relief/cure you're looking for.

Howard

Hi HowardF76 welcome to this great forum and thank you so much for your post. I have had eczema all my life and tried lots of things and done lots of itch/scratch but after reading your post I am going to up my water consumption...... can you give me guidance on how much more a 'LOT' was?

I have now been inspired once again to "Up" my water consumption too. I always say I will do this, as I have been told it cleans the rubbish out of your skin - I keep it up for a while, then slow down again.

I have found that a "water bobble" helps as I hate the idea fluoride and chlorine in my water, and this is a really cheap way of filtering it out - around 6 months of daily clean water for around £8.

Earlier this year, I took mine to America and on a cruise, and drunk so much more than usual, and felt better for it I think. I kept it up for a while, but lapsed again recently, and reel rubbish again, so it might not be a coincidence?

Hi Glenys,

Good luck with your watery experiment. I feel like I have further proof of its efficacy simply because I've just had a fairly stupid week of heavy alcohol consumption and generally poor hydration and guess what....yep, the rash has started to come back on a very small patch of skin. Time for another pint (of water!)

Hi lovesradio,

Apologies for taking so long to get back to you. In all honesty I'd pretty much forgotten about my initial post! I now try and drink at least 3 litres a day, but I guess it depends upon how big you are, how much exercise you're doing etc. Good luck and happy Christmas!
