I need some advice on how to study/focus w/ OCD

I am taking some summer classes and I have really struggled to deal with my intrusive thoughts while studying. I feel like I barely get anything done. I have done some research but I'm not really sure what is best to believe. However, based on experience, if I allow the thoughts to keep coming back while I'm studying it will just be this repeated cycle of my mind and anxiety making me think that I need to think to acknowledge that thought again despite me having done it 100 times already. I know that y'all don't advise blocking out thoughts, and it is really hard, but I feel like when there are important things that need to get done like studying and work it's just impossible to coexist with this second channel going on in my mind. I haven't been suppressing any thoughts/feelings that I haven't already acknowledged. But at the same time the thoughts and anxiety will repeatedly return as long as I let them. My game plan as of now is honestly just to try and focus no matter what I feel. But at the same time I just feel like what I am doing isn't working. I could just really use some advice if anyone has any!

I'm a college student that studied a lot despite suffering from OCD intrusive thoughts. As a matter of fact exercise and breathing techniques can probably help your anxiety lower. It worked for me. But as a strategy to get rid of intrusive thoughts, try procrastinating, like when you are hit with an intrusive thought tell yourself I'll come back to it in five minutes let's say. And breathe just breathe and calm down, then keep on doing your studies. A little time later if you think of the thought, your anxiety from that thought would have faded most probably. Dk if it works for you. Trying to stay calm when anxiety hits you can help at the moment.

Don't forget how much you can find resources on YouTube about handling intrusive thoughts. They can be of much help to you.

I had the same problem in school. My thoughts told me to re-read everything or I'd flunk the test. I had a hundred thoughts whirling around and I hadn't been diagnosed. I finally had to drop out of school and go to work in a family business. Is school too stressful for you? Are you on meds to help the racing thoughts? You are doing nothing wrong!
